Jill really looks just like her mother in that video. The baby is super cute.

23 inches, wow, that's one of the longest babies I've ever seen. My DD had 3 ten pound babies (all c-sections) but they weren't over 22 inches.

well, I had 3 ten pound babies - and no C section, yep even my first,(and no epidural, I was scared to have that needle in my back, no thank you - ) and he was 23" long too It just normal here!
I thought I read a post that Derrick posted about the baby coming and they were at home, seeing that they are now at the hospital is a good sign, and the short video Happymom posted says that it will be shown on TLC, or stay tuned to TLC... I wonder how much it cost to have a baby in the hospital these days...

He certainly is a huge (cute) baby. Love the name they chose, and the fact it was born on my b'day. ;) ;)

If you have to have a baby, you might just as well have a cutie-pie like Israel.

I believe Michelle had to have 2 or 3 c-sections.

Lovely baby. She sounds pretty strained and forced in that video. It can't be easy having all this stuff filmed but of course it is their choice.

Anyone know why they literally run out at the end of their weddings? I've never seen that before - I figure there must be some reason behind it.

Welcome baby Israel! Saw a promo for Jill & Derick's 'delivery episode' - May 5th, maybe?

Oh, Starr, I've seen other brides and grooms run down the aisle. Not unheard of.

They are probably running so they can spend their first minute alone as they are never allowed the courtesy of simple time together to talk, kiss or be very friendly.

It's a wonder they don't have a "chaperone" running after them. ;)

So I watched the show about all the different weddings... please .. someone tell me ..

Why did Jim Bob have to go and say that he and Michelle knew about the "no kiss" on the stage (Jessa and Ben) two days prior... when all he could do is talk about the "first kiss" leading up to that? ... Does he have to be that much in control of his kids lives??? .. Bravo to Jessa (and Ben) for doing exactly what they wanted!

Isn't Jana the oldest girl? She is almost never seen or discussed on the show. They were saying Jill and Jessa were in charge of this or that and now someone else will have to do it, but they never mention what jobs Jana does. Is she just very shy and not really wanting to be featured on the show or is there some other reason for it. I guess she hasn't found her "mate" yet. You almost have to wonder if she might be gay and it's the parents choice to not feature her as they have very anti-gay attitudes it seems. But seriously, out of 19 kids isn't it a statistical probability that at least one will be gay?

I thought she was on the episode before Jessa's wedding quite a bit. From what I have read she is just very quiet and stays out of the spotlight and has dreams and aspirations that do not include marriage and/or babies in the foreseeable future. Although most of the reports online about her are skewed in a negative light I suspect that she is just a young woman who has spent a great deal of her younger years being in charge of all those kids and is ready to just do her own thing for a while. And why is it that just because she is not married that people question her sexuality? Goodness gracious!

She was shown a lot before Jill's wedding. She is the seamstress in the family, apparently. She was altering the bridesmaids dresses. I've also read that she wants to go away to college.

Sorry, I shouldn't have brought up her sexuality. But it wasn't just because she's not married, it's because she is missing in many of the shows. It kind of makes you wonder why, it could be she is just shy, or tired of being responsible for so many kids all her life or just not that interested in being on the show, etc. It just seems with the Duggers "old fashioned" morality, the oldest girl would get married first but she apparently just hasn't found who she is looking for or is not looking right now. BTW,who are the twins? Is it Jana and Jill? It's the first time I remember Michelle saying she had a multiple birth and apparently it was the only one.

I thought there was more than one set of twins but who can tell - the little ones all look alike to me!

I imagine that Jana is happy not having to raise any children for a while.

Having raised my 3 younger brothers and 1 10 year younger sister made me not at all interested in having any children of my own, at least I know that is how I felt. I realize it is a personal thing but I always felt I already had that experience, in my childhood, so maybe she wants a normal life for a while. Hope she gets away to college.

I can understand that. When I was 14 I was responsible for 4 children under the age of 8. They were my cousins. At the time we had 12 people living in the house and I was the one who did most of the cooking for everyone. Somehow, everything seemed to be my responsibility for about 2 years. Might be part of the reason I only had one kid.
