Just getting this ready. I know I threatened to not watch after the disappointment I felt last week but I also know that I will give in and tune in. I'm assuming the first two hours will be the finale with the third hour being a Q&A about the season with those still on the island.

Hopefully, Trump will only talk for a short time tonight. I didn't realize tonight was already going to 3 hours without him. I think I'll just get my sleep tonight and watch it tomorrow. I get up at 5 am.

What did Rizo say his name was? Or am I confused?

Rizgod. He asked Jeff to NOT use his real name but to use his self-selected nickname instead.

I can’t believe the jury got it right. I am so happy they did. I was so sure they were going to hand it to Sophi. I would love to see Alex, MC, Sophie and Steven come back for another season. I am now more than okay with seeing Savannah and Rizzo on season 50. I hope to never see Kristina again. Her question to Savannah of asking her to name everyone’s family members was meant to embarrass her. Savannah handled it with grace. Looking forward to season 50.

Kappy, ITA with you that the jury got it right. I'm also 100% with you regarding Kristina.

I didn’t watch the entire finale. Just got to the point where Savannah got into the final 3 and didn’t care to watch it anymore. Not one of my favorite seasons.

Kristina's question was gross. Some of us are just not good with names. I found myself not knowing who I would have voted for in the end, but I think Savannah is probably the best winner for this season. I'm really not a huge fan of any of the final 3, but Sage turned on her allies and Soph just kind of seemed along for the ride. I'm excited for Survivor 50!

I am just glad that Rizzo didn't win. I am sure that he thinks he should have won

Rizzo said in an interview that he thought he and Savannah would be equivalent to the jury, so if he'd won the fire challenge, the vote would probably have been 5-2-1 with him getting the same five votes Savannah did. He also said that the jury were under the impression that Savannah was a mean girl, and wouldn't have voted for her if he hadn't set them straight about that. That last bit reminds me, in the reunion show Sage was crying, and Jeff asked why, and I thought she said she didn't like people thinking she was mean. Did I hear that right? Because if so, I wonder what was said in that short time, or whose comment had upset her in the jury questions.

Maybe there were questions to Sage that were edited out.

Rizzo may have thought that, but I read that the jury didn’t care for all his immunity idol antics. If it were between Sage, Sophi and Rizzo, the consensus was that Sophi would’ve won. I don’t want to go back and look for the article again.

Thanks, Vsmart, it did seem unrelated to anything they showed, so that could be the reason.

Oh, you were definitely right, Vsmart, here's a bit from an interview with Savannah:
quote:What didn’t we see at that final Tribal? Anything of note that went down and didn’t make the episode? Oh my gosh. It was really long, I'll say that. And I was kind of surprised at how upset some of the jury members seemed to be with Sage. Survivor is a game of betrayal. And, of course, people always have hurt feelings when they exit the game no matter when they leave the game. And I think some people were really frustrated with some of Sage's decisions, and she got the brunt of it for quite a while. And it was hard to watch and hard to listen to, to be honest. But she handled it like a champ. And like I said, the jury members are always so valid in whatever they ask. This is ultimately their decision at the end of the day.
https://ew.com/survivor-49-winner-savannah-louie-reacts-kristina-jury-question-interview-11869891 I kind of wonder if that is also at least partly due to things Rizzo told them, as if he set them straight about Savannah not being a mean girl, as he claims he did, than that would have necessarily exposed Sage kind of setting Savannah up with that label.

Well, CBS certainly seemed to give Savannah a mean girl edit, as noted in some our collective comments in other threads this season. So, if the jurors also thought Savannah was a "mean girl" then maybe that was not editing. Sage also got a bit of a mean girl edit and also a kookie, quirky-ish edit. Hard for us to know, as Rizo likely did indeed influence the jury before final tribal council, and Rizo was bonded to Savannah. Sage was always a dark horse the entire season. I wouldn't mind Sage coming back on in a future season.
