severeweatherus 13m Folks, if we are not at “Super” El Niño threshold yet, we are very close. This is months before peak! Sea surface temperatures in tropical Pacific are continuing to rise. This El Niño is on a record pace and could become one of, if not the strongest El Niño on record later this year. Buckle up.

severeweatherus 17m Super El Niño threshold has been reached per World Climate Service. Awaiting official confirmation from NOAA. This is likely at least 2 months earlier than any other El Niño in history. Peak strength should be sometime in late Fall or early Winter. Potential impacts on the United States? Extreme heat domes, dangerous floods, severe weather, tornadoes, droughts and extreme wildfire risk is very possible, depending on location. This is just insane and this is uncharted territory.

Warming up here. I am SO happy I replaced the wonky ceiling fan downstairs.. The old one was unusable as a fan, but it was lighting. Now I have a nice quiet modern looking fan and light.. With remote control.

Seamonkey, I am also SO glad you replaced the wonky ceiling fan downstairs. You deserve it, and it is SUCH an improvement. One of the first things we did in our next to last home of our lives, the one we live in now, was to put in overhead fans with lights in three of the rooms.

severeweatherus SuperElNino 26m With this emerging Super El Niño, in coming months, a very active stormy pattern is expected across the southern United States and California. Models have CONSISTENTLY suggested a very wet winter and maybe late fall. This increases the risk of serious flash floods and severe weather. Unfortunately for the northern Rockies and Northwest, it will likely be a very dry Winter. Tropical Pacific Ocean waters are running 2 months ahead. We are heading towards a historic El Niño.

severeweatherus 30m Just a reminder for the people who say “we don’t need the National Weather Service (NWS) or NOAA because we have weather apps or weather streamers”… All weather warnings: issued by NOAA/NWS Weather Radars: maintained by NOAA/NWS Ground truth: observed by NOAA Hi-resolution weather models: produced by NOAA/NWS Your weather apps: Data supplied by NOAA/NWS Your weather streamers: Data supplied by NOAA/NWS The National Weather Service and NOAA are highly important and its public safety.

Gloomy and muggy, supposed to rain this morning, not looking likely for my area, LOL. The skies are cloudy but not menacing, no breeze and temps going to 91. Also sneezing like crazy so some sort of pollen is high.

abc7la 12m The Southland will see its hottest days of the year this week, when a blistering heat wave will send temperatures soaring above 100 degrees in some areas. Monsoon-like weather is also bringing a chance of thunderstorms with lightning in some areas. A beach hazards statement is in effect through Wednesday evening due to dangerous rip currents and higher surf.

Very wet this morning in San Antonio. As of 7:30 AM we’ve received 3.33 inches of rain since about 3 AM at our house. Haven’t seen the morning news from down in the lowlands where the city actually is but have to assume there has been flooding. We’re up in what they call Hill Country so the rain drains away here quickly with little threat of flooding. According to the news last night parts of the city/county could get up to 10 inches through Thursday.

Mack, can you send some of that rain my way, please? 4th of July weekend we had a ton of rain, quite a few inches. 2 days later, I went to plant some plants in the ground, and unbelievably, the ground was dry as a bone, like it never rained at all.
