Responders in Venango County, Pennsylvania are having to WALK to accident scenes because roads are sheets of ICE.
If roads look wet, assume it's ICE. Stay home!
This is a life threatening situation.

Two Mammoth Mountain ski patrollers were caught in an avalanche while doing avalanche mitigation work on Friday, the resort said.

One of the patrollers sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital outside of the area for further care, according to resort officials. The other ski patroller was being evaluated for possible broken bones.

We're supposed to get 7 to 11 inches of snow tonight. It should be starting soon.

WOW, I thought it was done but all of a sudden it is pouring! Sounded like some hail might be in there too.

Holy cow is it snowing. I just went out to shovel a bit and as soon as I turned around it was like I never did anything. Tomorrow should be fun. Not. Lol!

High of 80F here today. Close to the record for the day in San Antonio. Two more days of warmer than normal temperatures then it drops 30 degrees Monday to a high of 51F. 🥶 We are warm weather folks so that is pretty close to our acceptable temperature. Yes we could get what is winter weather here early next year but what passes for winter here rarely lasts beyond mid February.

We were spared having rain other than a few sprinkles on Christmas, but today rain has been back. Seems, according to Spectrum, there is a state of emergency in California..

I think the temperature peaked here in far south Texas at about 83 today. It was 78 at around 4:30 pm, when I usually go out for my pre-sunset walk on the beach. I decided it was too hot to go today.

Have to at least smile if not laugh at Juju’s “it was too hot” comment. Our sweet spot for weather is 78F to 83F, not too hot for us. 🙂 I do recall my native born and raised Washington son who moved here three years ago saying he’d never get used to the weather here. A couple of weeks ago he was in Seattle and thought he was going to freeze. 😬

WOW, it is cold outside!! Not having cloud cover really ups the cold -- 43. The sun is shining and I see one white cloud. No breeze and temps are going to 53.

We got 7 inches or a little more. I've spent my day shoveling. Almost done. And while shoveling, I kept thinking I should have gotten my bf a snow blower for christmas instead of a mini fridge for the garage.

Nice enough here I just put gas in my wife’s SUV and will wash it here in an hour or so. Not exactly shorts and sandals weather but nice enough for jeans and a light weight long sleeve shirt. We don’t run our cars through automated car washes. I detail our cars myself.

We are going to have the craziest day of weather tomorrow!

It's going to start out in the '60s raining in the morning until about 8:00 or 9:00am. Then it's going to be very very windy, and by 7:00 p.m. it's going to drop into the 20s! Then in the middle of the night down to 13.

California is in for a brief weekend reprieve from damaging holiday storms that killed four people and hobbled Christmas travel, but weather officials warned of more wet weather heading to the rain-soaked state starting on New Year’s Eve.

Got up to 77F and right now at 4:20 it has already dropped to 75F. Got Mrs Mack’s SUV all washed and dried. All done by hand so it takes about an hour and a half. It’s back in the garage and I’ll put a light protective detailing glaze on it tomorrow. Another hour of work and it’ll look like fresh out of the showroom….actually better.

Looked at the detailed forecast for Monday. The high will be 51F but that’s at 1AM and it will drop to 40F during the day. 😳😱

My cousin's widow still lives in Brunswick, Maine, I think. That isn't far from Portland. Some historic older homes there.. Some ghosts too.

Snowmobilers trigger huge California avalanche

A group of snowmobilers triggered an avalanche in a recreation area north of Yosemite National Park, burying one person, search and rescue teams said.

Around 11 a.m. Saturday, the Mono County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue team received a call for a D3 avalanche near Latopie Lake. A D3 avalanche is considered “very large,” enough to wipe out a house and create a debris field 10 football fields long. The group of seven snowmobilers were riding in the Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area off Highway 108 when they “triggered” the slide, Mono County officials said.

My dog decided he needed to go out 4 times last night. It was 12° and icy. He is old and I have to carry him up and down the stairs. I appreciate that post.

And as an aside, if it's raining out, he can hold it 24 hours straight. Go figure.
