Another hurricane churning in the Pacific Ocean could unleash another round of rough weather along the Southern California coast by early next week. Polo is expected to bring hazardous rip currents and the potential for high surf and large swells to the region's already battered coast.

And I'm one of them!

It's been extremely windy for the past 2 days and the storm isn't even supposed to be the worst of it until Saturday.

I gave up trying to pick fallen over plants yesterday.

While our daytime temperatures are still in the mid to high 90s we’re starting to get just this small twinge of morning coolness. Not up to being brisk but just that small change. I’m not sure which long range forecast for this coming fall and winter to believe. Right now the different models are coming up with what seems like contradictory forecasts from dry and colder than normal and wetter and warmer than normal. I’m guessing the models are having trouble dealing with this apparently stronger than normal El Niño.

Hurricane Nolo could bring 2 feet of rain to Hawaii’s Big Island this weekend, while the Atlantic has seen no hurricanes this season for the first time in at least 75 years.
A record-setting El Niño year likely caused both patterns.

This is part of Highway 12 on Outer Banks in North Carolina completely submerged by ocean water as the nor’easter intensifies off the Mid-Atlantic coast!

Hurricane Polo's remnants will bring lots of rain to the Southwest U.S, the Plains and the Midwest this week.
Serious concerns for life-threatening flooding and severe weather and potentially a tornado threat in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, from Tuesday-Thursday.
A multi-day life-threatening flooding event is becoming increasingly likely across the Southwest U.S into the Plains.
