The world is virtually guaranteed to surpass 1.5C of global warming in the next few years, the United Nations said in a landmark report out today. The new goal? Minimize the overshoot and ultimately reverse some of the warming, reports

Cloudy with a 1% chance of rain, LOL. Skies are definitely cloudy, both light and dark gray, with a very slight breeze. Temps going up to 77.

New: With summer come monsoonal rains in Arizona, but climate-driven drought and wildfires are worsening the destruction from downpours like the deadly deluge that struck the Grand Canyon last weekend, according to experts. Free link.

Edouard weakened from a tropical storm to a depression overnight, but continued to unleash heavy rains and strong winds across parts of Texas, knocking out power to thousands, toppling trees and flooding roads.

It’s snowing at Mt. Bachelor, Oregon this afternoon! Snow is likely for the Cascades from Washington down into northern California over the next two days!

Three Hurricanes in the Pacific Ocean tonight. Wow.
Major Hurricane Lowell, Category 4 Karina, and Hurricane Marie.
This is due to the Super El Niño.

Apparently, we had a small earthquake this morning up north, I think they said a 3.2, not noticeable here.

Definitely wintery today, very cloudy, a higher chance of rain today - 55%. There is a good breeze and the skies are mostly cloudy but there is some blue peeking through.

Temps going to 74.

Hurricane Marie’s track is steering well away from the SoCal coastline and southwest of us, but its proximity will absolutely bring some rough conditions for our beaches on this busy Labor Day weekend. abc7.la/NZOxl…

98F on our patio as I type. The feels like temperature is 104F. Our upstairs AC quit working a week ago. Our HVAC company, one of the biggest and best in San Antonio, has been hammered with failing systems and hasn’t been able to get to us. We’re in their club program with both of our systems installed by them but others in the club program are experiencing total failure. Luckily it’s our upstairs unit so we’ve gotten by staying downstairs where the bigger main floor system has kept it very livable. It’s probably working overtime but thank goodness it is working. If it wasn’t son would have house guests. While we love summer we typically reach the point of wanting a break and we’re there. 🥵

Sunny today, skies have cleared up but a few fluffy clouds remain. A very slight breeze and temps going up to 78.

We did get some rain last night and it was enough that I heard it over the TV, had to mute to hear what was that noise, and was so happy it was rain!!

Hurricane Marie continues to intensify and cause flooding along the Mexican Pacific coast. Video shows streets flooded in Cabo San Lucas. The hurricane's center is about 400 miles away from Cabo.

We had rain overnight.. Just overcast at present.

Orange County, CA, so I assume the effect from the hurricane activity might have hit San Diego. LA was maybe going to get some precipitation too.
