Dry, hot and hazy for many today. While temps. along the coast will be mild, interior valleys will heat up into the 90s to near 100 degrees, with elevated fire danger continuing in the North Bay hills, East Bay hills, and other higher terrain.
There is no Spare the Air Alert today. For most people, outdoor activities can continue as planned, but those sensitive to smoke or air quality changes should check local conditions.

The Widemouth 2 Fire in central Utah has exploded in size to to 68,191 acres! This doubles the size in just 24 hours!
This fire is incredibly violent!

Families have lost homes, the Two Rivers Casino has been completely destroyed, and very cherished places have also been destroyed.

Some of these fires in Washington are so bad, people had to flee by boats near Fort Spokane, Washington.
This is with the Mitre Rock Fire. Many large and destructive wildfires are ongoing across the Northwest U.S and will is sending huge amounts of smoke to places downstream, all directions.

We are fine, here on upper Puget Sound, an area now also known as the Salish Sea. We have a 10,000 foot mostly dormant volcano between us and the fires. Friends and neighbors, however, have relatives in Spokane area who have totally lost their homes to the fires.
