Grooch, it seems like the son is not just letting his father down, as he shouldn't even be there, should be in a supportive environment and that situation is allowed to keep you in an impossible position, and also harm the reputation of the business.

I don't understand the son..

Anyway, you deserve to get battle pay for being there.

RN Holy cow Grooch! I hope today is better for you.

At the restaurant/bar I worked at the first half of my 20s, the owner had 2 sons that worked there. They didn't do anything except cashier or host. But every night one of the sons had off, he would come in and steal full bottles of booze and cases of beer out of the stockroom and fridge, and grab a handful of cash out of my bar register. They did this to the point where I didn't have stuff the customers were asking for or enough change for larger bills. They made it a nightmare. I always complained to their father, but he never did anything.

RN I got 2 new clients today! One with 1 dog and the other with 2. The one with 2 dogs is a young guy that looks like Toby McGuire.

eta: Both of the meet and greets went like would would in a dream. Just perfect! Patsy and Dolly were so well behaved meeting their new friends.

RN I should just set my account to no new clients because I am so overly booked, and it's so hard to say no to regulars, but it's harder when there are slow spells

June is pretty full except maybe a couple spots in the last week, and I actually have people trying to book for October already!

RN, Naja... is it possible through your contact list or the app to send a message to regulars to book earlier? Let them know you get booked up quickly?

RN I tell them that every time! No one cares. And it just happened again. A regular with 2 dogs needs me all next week, and I already have 4 dogs here the second half of the week. How can I say no when her mother died and she has to bring the kids down to Texas? Of course I have to say yes. Luckily her dogs are super sweet and mild.

RN, well, that one was unanticipated, so yeah, it's a tough one.

But you may have to use some tough love for some voluntary requests, to train them better. :-)

RN 7 dogs and it's pouring rain outside. It will be muddy mayhem! Thankfully one of the big ones goes home later today.

We have Patsy and Dolly, Opal the tiny Jack Russell, Layka the Alaskan Klee Kai mix, Opal's brother Henry the giant 150 lb black mouth cur mix, Jackie the black lab, and Layka's brother Moose the lab mix.

Goodness, what a houseful! I envy you Naja. Dogsitting is one of the things I had hoped I could do one day. Nowadays I'm just glad I get to sit my granddoggies once in awhile, but even then four is a lot!

RN San Antonio is still rocking and rolling from the NBA Spurs beating the Oklahoma Thunder to advance to the NBA final championship series against the New York Knicks. This is a big deal for this city as the Spurs are the only major league team in town. Our other professional teams are minor league “farm” teams. Go Spurs!!!!

Mack, I saw SA play Portland, in person, during the first round of the playoffs this year. Watched Wemby, pregame, hit every single 3 pointer that he put up. Scary good. I knew Portland was in trouble that day. We lost. After the game, I kept thinking about how good SA played. They were far behind, but it didn’t matter. Nothing seemed to faze them. Thought they’d make to the finals. Continued watching SA during the playoffs. They continue to play the same type of game. Solid team. They’re now in the finals. Having said that, my heart wants the Knicks to win… they have a lot of spunk. But, my head says it will be SA winning.

RN We did it again! Just booked our next cruise for January 2027. Tahiti and the South Pacific! Twenty two days Los Angeles to Papeete stopping first in the Hawaii islands for three or four ports. It’s a “bucket list” destination. Before we never had the time plus many of the South Pacific cruises required a very long flight to Australia. We will have to fly from Tahiti to San Francisco then home but remarkably short trip considering the distance.

RN We haven’t started yet but we do intend to add our last cruise to our webpage. Kind of still recovering but we will get to it and I will post a link here once it is up and running. Of course sane will be true of the South Pacific cruise with little updates like I did for the Med cruise.
