RN Good morning you all. We are slowly but surely making our way into Livorno this morning. Weather is actually not all that good. No sunny Med. Last night was a bit rocky but Carey and I were not bothered as we have some 400+ cruise days and don’t get seasick.

RN Sea, My mom did, too! I had no idea it was an actual hit song played on the radio.

RN I loved hearing my mom sing that song. She also used to sing Three Little Fishies.

Well the song was newer when my mom sang it. She also sang I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch. And one that started In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, stood a cow on the railroad track... She was a good old cow with eyes so fine, but she didn't know how to read a railroad sign... Mack, I hope the weather improves!

RN As planned the ship stayed overnight in Livorno and is scheduled to leave at 6 PM for our next port. The weather improved a bit yesterday afternoon and we went on a tour to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Carey and I had been there 14 years ago but it was interesting and we had a better guide this time. It was dry and a bit cool but no rain. This morning we actually have some sunny breaks but still cool. Even the locals are surprised as the temperature is well below normal. I’m just hanging out today as Carey and our cruise partner have a ladies’ day at the spa on the ship.

RN Mom sent me the most awesome housewarming gift that I need so badly! It's one of those ceramic types of cookware without the toxins.

RN Remember those blue hosta seeds I bought that were a hoax? I don't know how many weeks it has been, but after checking every single day, today there was actually something growing. In one pot there were 2 mushrooms, but in the other was something a little more promising.

Mack, was the tower leaning more? I know, it was stabilized before your first visit, so it should be about the same now. Seems like you are experienced travelers who know the benefits of resting activities.

Nice gift since you will use it, Naja! Will be interesting to see what actually grows from that seed.

RN The Tower was still leaning 😬 but supposedly fully stabilized now. They have lasers pointed at it from several directions and can trace or track the slightest movement.

RN We’re in Porto Santo Stefeno. Today it’s kind of a sleepy fishing port but in Roman times it was one of the get away villages for Rome residents. The weather has improved significantly without virtually no wind and no rain. Bright and sunny this morning with a forecast in the high 60s to low 70s.

RN It was nice on shore today. Very much not a tourist “trap” at all. Being a Sunday most shops were closed but restaurants were open. Lots of families and kids. Relaxing and a nice break.

RN Just getting ready to dock. We’re off to the Pope’s summer “palace” today. We’ve been in Rome three or four times so opted not to go there this trip.

RN When I sit out on the patio at night, I swear it looks like Bigfoot sitting in the tree 2 yards down. It's so creepy! See if you can spot it on the first picture.
Here is a closeup so you can see what it really is.
In the winter without leaves it's even scarier with its silhouette in the moonlight.

RN I had a very last minute booking. She contacted me a half an hour before she wanted to drop off her Rusty the chihuahua so she could go to the emergency room. She is my client I've had for a couple years, and when I first met her she had approx 3 years to live so she started traveling the word. I haven't seen her since last year spring until just a little while ago. OMG, that poor woman. She could barely catch her breath and looks about 25 years older than the last time I saw her. She has some kind of degenerative heart problem. She has that death look in her eyes. Thank goodness I ran out and got the dog instead of letting her bring him to the door. I hope she makes it to the hospital. I asked her if she needs help getting to the hospital but she said no. I put my hand on her arm over her shirt, and she was so hot and all wet from sweat. I don't even know how she will make it to the door of the emergency room.
