RN, oh no, Naja, every pet sitter's worst nightmare. Glad the eyeball is okay!

RN I'm going to get a rotisserie chicken and give her a special treat with her dinner. I feel so bad.

And i'm sure you know that the rest of the time both of those dogs are at your place you must keep them completely separated. One "tiff" highly increases the likelihood of another.

RN Thankfully that other dog is just a daycare dog. He goes home at 5 PM. He's also a small dog. The dog that got hurt is very toy aggressive. The other dog got too close to her ball, she snarled out and startled the small dog, and then the tiff happened. It was fast. Literally one of those 1 second tiffs. It was over and they went their separate ways. I didn't realize anything was wrong until a minute later when I saw blood.

RN I'm getting anxious that they haven't called. It's been 4 hours. I'll wait another hour before I call.

Naja, they probably have to fit her in amongst all the other appointments they have today. Just give them a call, so you don't have to worry.

RN You're right, Grooch. I just called and they have yet to get to her.

RN I just got back from picking her up. They really did a good job stitching her up. I can barely see it. It's her left eye at the bottom.

RN, That must have been rough for sure. Glad it seems to be working out okay. Just out of curiosity, what do you do with all of the other dogs when you have to go out? We have a new (well relatively new) puppy and he still gets anxious when we leave him for a while.

RN thanks for all the reassurance, you guys. I appreciate it. Jimmer, I never leave the dogs alone unless it's an emergency. Luckily for this emergency, I was only watching one other dog and he's a really good boy and doesn't do anything wrong when left alone. Otherwise, the kitchen and living room are gated off from the rest of the house, so I just let them have roam of the kitchen living room if I have to leave for some reason. I feel like it's too dangerous to leave them in the yard. I'd be picturing them digging under the fence or someone stealing them.

Oh for sure not in the yard without you there.. I know you keep being gone to an absolute minimum. If the dog that peed a lot was there, I would use a crate. It looks like the vet did a great job.

RN I just saw Maria Shriver on the Today Show. Her face is horrifying from all the plastic surgery she had. I can only imagine it looks even worse in real life. Why do women do this to themselves?

RN I woke up to news a dead body was found in a yard waste bin close to where I live. 👀 Freaky! The poor man that found her when he went to bring back his bin. Naja, the vet did a great job. Happy all is well. Grooch, I don’t understand the excessive plastic surgery either. Many are looking so gaunt from the buccal fat removal.

RN I was thrilled to see Demi Moore had her face repaired after the botched job. RN Just got back from another visit to the vet. The dog's eye was a little too goopy looking for comfort. They said she's fine and gave me some steroid drops to use only until it stops being goopy.

RN I just had another horrible thing happen! I just had to send the 2 dogs home that just arrived. And I have sit them before! For a whole week last month. Right when they walked in the door, the one attacked Patsy on the head and ear. Had her head in a death grip. Wouldn't let go while Pasty screamed! And then she attacked the the dog with the hurt eye on her back and wouldn't let go and was trying to shake her like killing a bunny. I have to go check again for blood. ok, I triple checked. Everyone is fine. Poor Patsy got the worst. The owner was so upset.

RN this month marks 23 years since we bought the house we live in today. That’s a big deal to Carey and I since neither of us have lived in the same house and actually the same city or town anywhere close to that many years. I grew up with a father who was career military and we moved a lot. I did spend 20 years in Tacoma, Washington but in probably six or seven houses between my parents and my own adult purchases. And then I was off again to Texas, then Germany, then Washington, DC, and eventually here. Carey’s father was an entrepreneur who opened, closed, or sold several business in several states in the southern Midwest. Our taproot is set here and we stay here until well……

Naja, that is so odd that all these things keep happening. I'm glad the owner was there to see it happen. The only thing I can think of is that there's some type of scent that set the dog off. Maybe something she picked up from the vets office, and it rubbed off on Patsey. Who knows? The dog with the hurt eye isn't a small dog either, I can't imagine she'd be able to be shaken like a rabbit. My great aunts used to keep a big pot of water near by to throw on the dogs when they'd get into a fight. It's supposed to distract them. Maybe you should keep a pot by the door and in every room until the dogs get back to normal. Mack, Congrats! That's quite a feat these days.

Choking the attacking dog is the fastest way to end a fight. Keep a slip lead leash, the kind you can put around their neck (not over their head) and pull up until the attacker can't breathe.

Also, keep in mind that when a dog fight happens, it takes 3 days for cortisol levels to return to normal. All the dogs may be on high arousal till then. You may do well to keep them all as separated as possible.
