RN, I finally got my watch/letfit to update the time. And for some reason I slept later than normal, BUT .. IT IS Sunday, so that's ok.

RN We had our first retirement brain cramp.

Classic rookie retirement move, Mack, but you will come to realize that things soon become same-same-but-different.

And, yeah, it is easy to fall into the six Saturdays and a Sunday mode, so you don't know what day it actually is.

Oh, another thing to get used to is that you are actually entitled to a senior discount.

RN My Patsy really injured me a couple days ago (accidentally). Today is the first day the injuries feel a bit better.

Patsy got the zoomies and was running around and jumping on the couches. I was sitting at one end of the big couch, and Patsy jumped from the loveseat, to the couch and then straight at me at lightening speed. Her front paws were straight out like she was in a mid air dive right at my face. I turned my face away at the last second and her left paw stabbed my ear and made it bleed right above the piercing hole, and her right paw clipped my nose like a hard punch and stab all at once. My nose didn't bleed, but it was incredibly sore until today. It just has a lingering pea sized red spot near the tip.

RN UGGGG...Thanks to autocorrect, I gave the worst reply to a potential client.

She asked how many dogs I would be watching on the the days her dog would be here. I explained there is only one other dog booked on a couple of days she wants.

I meant to explain how "friendly" the other dog is, but autocorrect changed it how "frenzied" the other dog is! HAHAHA

RN I didn't think I would find out so soon what the bush growing on the other side of my garage is. I just wheeled the trash bin to the curb (Early because it has started snowing and it would be harder to do later) and saw it while I was walking back. It's a Forsythia already blooming in the snow!

I can't wait to see the rose bush bloom on the other side of the house.

Forsythias are fairly cold hardy, but it is so much fun when they first start blooming, because you know spring is coming. Spring is busting out all over in my Pacific Northwest town where we had snow flurries and hail last week.

Naja, forsythia around me aren't doing anything yet. But the gold finches are turning yellow. So there's that at least.

RN, I almost forgot that goldfinches change color in the winter. We do have them in the Pacific NorthWest (PNW) in some places, but apparently not at my current house in the summer.

RN I had to take Dolly to the vet today because she was due for her shots and heartworm test, and since it's right by my old house, I thought I would drive by.

I thought I would feel sad, but I was kind of happy seeing kids bikes, cars in the driveway, sun-catchers hanging off the deck on the hooks I decided to leave up. It's actually nice knowing a big family is there.

RN I feel so sad for my Mom. My step dad since I was 7 passed away in February and today is his memorial at Sacred Heart, and a luncheon afterwards. It's in Chicago so I'm going to watch the live stream in about an hour.

He wasn't a very nice man, but my Mom loved him and I am so sad for her. Remember when I told you guys about how his daughter from Georgia and niece from Chicago just showed up at their house unannounced in Florida and stole him to put him in a brain hospital for his dementia? What I never told you was they stopped by the bank with him first and emptied the safe deposit box.

Anyway, now Mom has to spend the day with those 2 horrible people. I asked my Aunt Nancy to stay by her side.

RN I've never grown Hostas from seeds, but I'm going to try. I never saw hostas in such a beautiful color as this, midnight blue or black and blue. They are gorgeous. and I am going to try to grow them from seeds.

RN I've never ever seen a blue like that on a hosta. Or black. Are you sure the picture wasn't AI generated for the sale?
