RN Really I have only my daily essentials left to pack, otherwise, I'm pretty ready to move. I'm still trying to figure out a plan in my head for moving the fish.

I feel a little ripped off as far as having a Christmas. I had packed all my Christmas stuff for when I thought I was moving in November, planning on decorating the new place for Christmas. It would have been too much of a hassle to unpack everything when the sale didn't go through. So my only decoration is the outdoor lighted tree on the front lawn.

Naja, that tree is a symbol of Christmasses to come. And your place is Christmas every day for Patsy and Dolly and all who visit.

I found a wonderful article about Starcross where my wreath and olive oil are coming from.. Such a remarkable group of people! They fostered many sick children with AIDs and even earlier, adopting some of them and started organizations in Romania and Uganda.

You have to give an email address to read the article but they didn't require a verification of the address, so it doesn't have to be yours.

https://www.pressdemocrat.com/2025/08/23/toby-mccarroll-co-founder-of-sonoma-countys-starcross-monastic-community-dies-at-94/

It would be hard to read this and not feel better about things.

RN What an amazing man! It was interesting how the people that worked for him sometimes hated him for how hard he made them work.

Rn my tablet has been dying a slow death for the past month. It takes forever to try to type anything or to get a page to come load and stop blinking. I have to wait til Christmas Day to unwrap my new tablet. It can't come soon enough.

In the meantime, a while ago, I read a blurb about the play Hamlet and how it was all about corruption in the government. I had to read the play in high school, but I don't really remember anything about it. So, last night I started watching the movie with Lawrence Olivier. I watched 1/2 last night and I'm gonna finish it tonight. I'm actually enjoying it. I get it now and see a lot of similarities with the present government. Kinda eery actually.

I don't care for the actress playing Ophelia. Wish they had cast somebody else.

RN I’ve been meaning to share how great Swedish dishcloths are. They are life changing. 😂 No smell, very absorbent, and you can wash in machine.

Also, glass nail files. It’s like they “seal” the nail and work faster (less filing).

A couple stocking stuffer ideas.

Rihanna, I use a Swedish dish cloth to absorb all the water left in the rubber part of my front loading washing machine. I just place it there and it sucks it all up quickly. I come back in a little while, remove it and I can shut the door and not worry about my washing machine getting all smelly.

RN I agree with Rieann. Swedish dishcloths are great and I discovered the glass nail files last year. They are the very best nail files I've ever used!

I gave glass fingernail files as nominal Christmas gifts to Christmas dinner guests last year. Most of them seemed puzzled.

RN Just posting because I want to tell someone, I have finally finished this project. I have been working non stop since August, six days a week. We moved 14,000 people between August and today. Today was my last move and I am now officially on vacation till the end of January. Beautiful building.

RN Wow, that's a beautiful building! Congrats!

RN I just wanted to show how 9 days before I am scheduled to move, they are taking down the sweet gum tree next door (the kind with spiny balls that don't decompose) and has been the bane of my existence for 32 years. 9 days before I move!

RN, Thanks Naja, it really is a beautiful building. At night the lights on the building pulse like a heartbeat.

Sad to see a big old tree die.

Yes interesting comments. When the building was officially opened, Chase closed down vanderbilt avenue and invited all the construction workers and people who worke don the project for a luncheon. THey set up barbecues and we were treated to a lunch. Jamie Diamon gave a speech but the lunch was not hot dogs and hamburgers, we got lobster tails and really good food. He also invited the construction workers to bring their children and families. I thouht it was a nice thing to do. But it was hard work and a long five months working six days a week and 60+ hour weekis.

That really is a gorgeous building. It's nice to see somebody build something with personality for a change.

And congrats on a well deserved vacation!

Thanks all. After Christmas I am going to head to Puerto Rico for two weeks to just lay by a pool and enjoy the sun.

Wow, Maris, that is astounding, both the building and your part in moving 14,000 people. It boggles the mind.

We took a cruise to Greenland, in and out of Brooklyn cruise terminal, and we could see that building from the cruise port and on a city tour we took at the end of the cruise.

Kudos.
