Today was the day! When it was four degrees colder here in subtropical south Texas than back home in the Pacific Northwest. 51 here, 55 there, high winds both places. BUT, we live in exactly where all the big floods are occurring in WA state, and more atmospheric rivers are coming this week, so more rains will be dumped on the area.

43 going up to 54! I thought it was supposed to be getting warmer, LOL. At least we have Sunshine with some blue peaking thru with some fog remaining.

59 - wow that cloudy rain cover really warmed us up! It did rain a bit overnight, my balcony railing has some drips. The sky is still cloudy and gray since there is a prediction of some rain.

The rain won't be here, LOL, only a 2% chance. Temps are going up to 64.

Okay… Portland weather has been interesting. Big windstorm overnight, taking down trees and power lines. Tomorrow, another Pineapple Express will hit with massive rainfall all day. No rest in the near future for the flood weary areas of the PNW.

As people across the country prepare for holiday travel, dangerous wind gusts and heavy snow will produce hazardous conditions and potential infrastructure impacts from the Northwest to the North-Central U.S, the NWS says.

Juju, is this river near you?

My wife & I walked to Twin Falls on the S Fork of the Snoqualmie River (smallest of the Snoqualmie's 3 forks) the day after the flood.

This is 2000 Cubic Feet a Second, a day earlier it was 8000 CSF.

There I did it. A post without saying Trump's nuts. Opps. #

Winter hack: when your car is buried in snow, just pretend it’s buried treasure and make it a little game.

Severe blizzard conditions ongoing near Pembina, North Dakota!
Stay off the roads until conditions improve. This is a life threatening situation. Photo via webcam.

Crazy here, 100 mph winds in the middle of Colorado. Xcel preemptively shut off power to over 100,000 customers. Respite today and then expected to return tomorrow.

Portland is on round 2 of the Pineapple Express. Heavy rains all day today. Winds are moderate today, the weather report was that it was a slow moving storm when compared to the one a few days ago. So, trees less likely to fall, but rivers will hit flood levels pretty quickly. Tomorrow should be dryer mid day.

It reached 77F today. A deep tomorrow but long range to next week has San Antonio in the high 70s to low 80s next week. Going to be a warm Christmas even for here.

⚠️Major flooding is expected along the Clackamas River near Oregon City, Oregon late tonight through early Friday morning.
Expect major and life threatening flooding of residences and buildings along the lower Clackamas River, including the mobile home park.

Yes. The Clackamas River is the worst right now. I don’t think I there was much receding from the high river levels a couple of days ago. There’s a town, Mololla, which is between 2 rivers that may be an uni’s land tomorrow morning.

Here show some of the damage from the wind 2 days ago south of Portland. The picture at the bottom has a slide show.

Washington has much more damage than Oregon.

Grooch, no, the Snoqualmie River is down near where MishaMisha moved to from western Seattle suburbs to Snoqualmie Pass a long, long time ago. That is a mountain pass river they are showing, and that would be either Snoqualmie Falls or something close to it. We are about 80 miles north of there, and our volcano in the Cascades Mountains range is about 50 miles further west.

I84 east is now closed due to mud slides between Portland and Hood River. Further east, between Pendleton and Idaho, snow and wind are causing major issues with trucks and accidents. So, that section of I84 is also closed. I84 is a major east/west trucking interstate. I’m wondering what tomorrow morning will look like.

56! It's warm out!! It is cloudy and gray but I can see some clear sunny sky in the distance so that must be coming my way.

No breeze and temps are going up to a balmy 63!!

No rain here, yet ... but it is coming.

Currently 55, skies are really bright but gray and cloudy!!

Funny it doesn't feel cold, but cool and crisp/refreshing out on the balcony. We did get some showers last night but according to KRON4 the "big" storm is coming today - it is rated a 2 on a scale of 1 to 5.

Temps are going up to 60 and the rain will be heavy up in Marin county and some for my area.

⚠️ A PARADE of storms is forecast along the West Coast in time for Christmas Week.
Another Atmospheric River is forecast to bring flash floods, debris flows, damaging winds, and MASSIVE mountain snow to Northern California, Oregon & Washington.
Flash flooding expected. Life threatening flooding likely in Sierra Nevada. Debris flows possible around burn scars.
6 to 9 FEET of snow or more could fall in the Sierra Nevada and 1-3 feet in the Cascades.
This will be a wild week for West Coast!

Climate Prediction Center issued a long range outlook that indicates the West Coast will remain under the barrage of atmospheric rivers not just for the next week, but well into the start of 2026. Multiple atmospheric rivers are expected.
The first one arrives this morning in north & central California where the flood/flash flood potential will increase by mid-morning/afternoon with dangerous & life threatening impacts and debris flows likely.
Buckle in West Coast, it will remain very active!

We had a brief moment of blue skies with fluffy clouds, now it is gray and the clouds are no longer white and fluffy, LOL. Temps are going to 63 and we are expecting rain later today.
