I loved this man and not just because he was gorgeous. When he spoke, it was done with thought, kindness and compassion. He made so many great movies that I will watch again when I need to remember that there is good in humanity. RIP, Mr. Redford. I truly adored you.

I remember going to the theatre with my Granny to see "Rhinestone Cowboy" when I about 13. We loved it. I remember Granny singing the song on the way home.

Robert Redford
4h
Paul Newman did two cameos on the Simpsons both trolling Bob. One where Homer became sexually attracted to a bottle of Newman’s Own dressing. They had Paul call in the line and say to Homer:
“I’ll tell you what I told Redford, it ain’t never gonna happen”
And another episode he leaves a message:
“Hello, this is Paul Newman. You’ve got my salad dressing. Please give me my dressing back… or at least tell Robert Redford to stop using it as aftershave.”

My personal Robert Redford story: I was in school in NYC, a very small school, my high school graduating class was 63 kids. I was about 15 or 16 and I came down to the lobby with my friends, there were about half a dozen of us and who was there??? Robert Redford, George Segal, and Paul Sands to do promo shots for their movie that was about to be released "Hot Rock". Back then I think Robert Redford was like the most delicious male actor out there and we were a bunch of screeching girls. They were all so nice but he just had this aura, super cool, quiet, smile . Made our year

It was, I think back on all those unique memories and it is meaningful now as these people pass. I went to a school that was small but garnered a lot of attention. I remember meeting Cary Grant. He was what we would consider old but damn, he was gorgeous, white hair and all.

It was, so many memories of people no longer with us. We were on the inaugural ride of It's a Small world at the New York World's fair. We rode it with Walt Disney himself. I was 10.

I just read this same announcement on my phone and tears just burst out. I admired her SO MUCH.

Big loss when there is such a lack of respect for environment and wildlife, and just common decency.

What a life she had!

I remember the cartoon images of weeping animals when Steve Irwin died.. they could apply today.

As I said in the other thread, it’s sad when someone like this passes but what a wonderful life to celebrate.

I’m so sad. Her work with primates was incredible. Because of her work I stayed away from any primate research that I thought was harmful or cruel when I was getting my doctorate.

The good news is her work with young people in 75 countries via Roots & Shoots.

She was in Los Angeles for a speaking tour and died peacefully in her sleep.

She was to visit a school in LA that was affected by the fires a year ago to start the planting of many trees. A planting ceremony was held today in her memory.
