In addition to this pool, you all should also join our Yahoo football pool. See thread below for details. It is fun to do both pools, gives you 2 chances to be #1 or suck each week LOL or hedge your bets and pick different teams in each pool. https://tvclubhouse.com/forum/read.php?file=/9200/27011526.html&lm=1754600340

I love seeing Whoami's name in the header of this thread. Thanks for suggesting it, Pamy. Whoami was one of my favorite posters here, and I'm not sure she ever knew that.

I've had a very difficult time this week as my father passed away after a short stay in hospice care, but I will get my picks in before tomorrow.

Healing thoughts to you Galen! I'm right there with you. My pop (92) passed away in home hospice this past weekend also. I'll miss his hugs. Also this week 9 picks look to be even worse than last weeks picks. I think next week I'll do the "close my eyes and poke the screen" method

FYI: it always hurt my head to try and figure out those 'NET' Passing & Rushing number until i had the formula explained to me. Getting the numbers is still a challenge for me but at least I have the formula to know what to look for. Sharing here just in case anyone else had the same question about 'net' passing or rushing numbers Net Passing Yards This is the one that confuses people because it’s not just “yards thrown.” Formula: Net Passing = Gross Passing Yards – Sack Yards Lost Gross passing yards = everything the QB completes downfield. Sack yards lost = yards lost when the QB is sacked (counted as negative passing yards, not rushing). So if Darnold throws for 285 yards but gets sacked for –20 yards total: Net Passing = 285 – 20 = 265 yards That’s why projections always shave a bit off the top. Net Rushing Yards This one is more straightforward. Formula: Net Rushing = Total Rushing Yards (all players) – Fumbled Snap Losses (rare) Quarterback kneel‑downs do count as negative rushing yards, but they’re usually only –1 or –2 each, so they don’t move the needle much unless a team is running out the clock
