It's Clean your Purse and Car Day AND time to dust off the leaves on our house plants and give them a drink of water!
I have a noon meeting with the new manager, 2pm bingo, 5pm Dinner.
I cleaned up the kitchen and need to clear email but first I am off to my meeting.

Good meeting, it should be interesting because she is much more Apartment Manager focused than Assisted Living and that has been the problem. Carlton is 13 communities that are AL or Memory Care and us. Corporate was always directing our Activities Manager to have us do stuff that was really for Memory People, it was ridiculous.
Then I went and played Bingo, one one game $4.40! So now I am back clearing email and listening to my DayDrinking Podcast.
Next dinner at 5ish, then FINALLY, I can have a quiet day and relax a bit with some computer games and the paper.

Saturday ... a day to play and enjoy the day
I don't have much planned yet, watching Wimbledon and games. Got the kitchen cleaned up and coffee made.
Watching my Rescue streams and Rich is trying to herd the kittens into sitting down for their Churu treat. It's hysterical. A few comply and others don't have the patience.
Off to clear some email and then read the paper. Oh and I need to do a Safeway order and write up the minutes. That's all I have thought of so far.

Got my Safeway order put away, I ended up with 7 corn on the cob instead of 4!! So I tried making 2 in the air fryer. They turned out great except now I know I need to turn them halfway thru. But the more interesting fact is I realized my vegetable oil says best by 2022!! LOL, it didn't smell bad and tasted fine so I used it but I did go and purchase a new bottle and some avocado oil since that seems to be recommended for air fryers since it has a higher heat tolerance.
I did clean up in the kitchen, refilled the water bottles and wrapped up the rest of the corn. I might have to give some away, LOL. Tomorrow I am planning to try a steak in the air fryer.
Got email cleared and some other stuff on my desk, time to take my brownie and go play some computer games.

Sunday .. A day for blessings ...
Tried out my AirFryer on hash browns and Jimmy Dean frozen sausages, turned out really good! Also cleaned up the kitchen and got the dishwasher going.
Off to read the paper and enjoy my coffee.

It's Home Blessing Day AND we have moved to the kitchen and it's time to scrub your stove top! Soak the knobs and drip pans in hot soapy water while you clean the stove top.
Just getting started figuring out what chores I will do today. So far -- dustbust the bathroom, update and finish the Newsletter (I am trying to figure out how much to put in about the SS lies on not taxable) and do the minutes from the last meeting.
Working on email, then grabbing some yogurt and the newspaper. Oh that is the other thing I need to do, change my newspaper to the E-Edition. I can't support the $250 per month to have it delivered, they have raised it to a level that makes no sense to me when I just use it for the crossword puzzle and TVGuide, which I can print. Guess the rest of my news will come from Bluesky, Threads and you guys.

Cleaned up the kitchen and cleaned out the fridge, needed to see what foods are there to be used before they go bad. This morning I loaded up and ran the dishwasher so I got that unloaded.
Cleared email and now working on the Newsletter.

It's Anti-Procrastination Day AND time to grab a trash bag and clean out your refrigerator.
I have a meeting at 2pm with the Manager, no indication what it is about so we shall see. Then I can get back to my chores.
I got the Chewy box unloaded but need to put away all the food, it's currently stacked on the bar. Also need to clean up the kitchen and probably run the dishwasher. I noticed that the kitty plates are getting low.
Also need to get the minutes drafted and I have a pile of folders on my desk that need to be dealt with, I am not sure what they are for and if I need to keep them.
For now I am working on email and getting ready to go. Oh and I am behind in my computer games too.

OMG, someone is saying they are with the Resident Council and Welcoming Committee and asking the new residents for money!! They are telling them it is dues for the Resident Council -- there are no dues! I can't wait to hear/find out who this person is because it is none of the people who are actually supposed to do the welcoming.
It is pretty shocking that this has happened, but for some reason I am not surprised. It seems that it has happened to 3 new residents, one was asked for $18, one $30 and don't know what the third one was asked. Now $18 would pay for someone to have breakfast and dinner, but no clue about the $30 except it is a nice round number.
Oh well, once again things will be changing so we shall see how they work out in the long run.

Shocking. But it's someone who is in the know of when new residents move in, and I'm curious if the person knew their names. That would narrow it down a lot.

Apparently they mentioned the names of the actual Welcoming Committee, but I am not sure if they said that was the person who asked. I did raise the question of "would the person who complained know the specific person they mentioned or did the extortionist simply say they were that person".
Everyone knows when new people move in, they post it in the Monthly calendar and we mention it at the Resident Council meeting, and we add them in the Newsletter so people can add them to the Directory.
So it is really odd that is has only recently happened. At first the Manager said " in the past couple of months, then she said later in the past 6 months"; so it's hard to figure out. She will pursue it and I will mention at the next meeting there is no dues, that will get it into the minutes, and I am going to put it in the August Newsletter.
Now I have to figure out my chores for the day, LOL, I hate when things happen to disrupt my plans for the day!

It's Errand Day AND time to declutter your plastic wraps and foil drawers, cabinets or shelves.
I have been busy, earlier while I was reading the paper, I made a big list on the ads page, LOL. So I have transferred that to a slip of paper and got started on some of it.
I needed to refill my night pills so that lead to me cleaning out the drawers of both the nightstands. I also was planning to order meds today so needed to confirm which ones I actually need. It is so weird how I end up with multiple bottles of one kind when I order them when the Pharmacy tells me to, and then I am short on others.
There is some sort of shortage on my thyroid pills so I only get 43 at a time, annoying but apparently Kaiser's preferred supplier is having manufacturing issues. So odd. Anyway, it is on my list to order some other meds.
I got the kitchen cleaned up and the dishwasher running, I wanted that done before the energy peak due to our Heatwave.
I was planning to do laundry, then I saw it was going to be HOT, and our laundry room is up on the third floor and even tho the AC is running it is hot up there with all the dryers going. So I have just sorted it and have it ready to go ... maybe i will get up early tomorrow and knock it out.
That's it for now, off to clear email, do a chewy order, order the meds, see if I still have OTC money to spend and catch up on social media.

OTC stuff ordered, meds orders, chewy ordered and I called on my Newspaper to change to digital and they offered me 13 more weeks at the current rate - which is also toooooo high. I had said if they raised it again I would cut off the delivery even though I do enjoy a hard copy of the paper.

Today I guess I will work on some more of my list and I have Bingo at 2pm. For now it's time to read the paper, play some games, decide if I should do a load of laundry or delay til next week.

Won one game, had to share the pot so only $2.40; then had a fun chat with both managers. We got a note in the Suggestion Box that said " Elderly people don't like a change in routines", signed Seniors. Hahahahaha, we were chatting about how people here are so amazing, entitled and demanding.
Based on our chat yesterday I talked with the other board member at Bingo about shutting down the resident council. I am not planning to run and if no one else does, then it is easy to shut down. We wont' be doing Holiday Bonuses, Carlton is enforcing their policy of no bonus/gratuity. I have no problem stopping that so there really isn't anything left for the RC to manage, other than crazy residents.
So we shall see if anyone else steps up to the plate to run the RC.
Now I have managed to get the trash out, the dishwasher unloaded and reloaded, reflled the water bottles, watered some outside plants and taken the cans out to the balcony.
Oh yeah, I did get a Safeway order and have gotten that put away and the bags dealt with. And I just finished my Lazyfit app, so now it's time to play.
And finish clearing email and catching up on social media.

You've done a good job, Dipo. I think it is likely nobody will volunteer to replace you. When management tries to get somebody to replace you, lobby for concessions and compensation IF you are tempted to accept.

Thanks Juju. LOL, all the Resident Council jobs are volunteer. We will still have the Newsletter - i enjoy doing that, and the library will still be taken care of, and the Welcoming Committee will still welcome people, so we will have the good parts and get rid of the Pain-in-the-Ass part.
Who knows, maybe someone will step up and take over.

Saturday ... a day to relax ...
Slept late but I did get up around 6.30 and fed the kitties. They let me know they were hungry and I imagine since it was cooler they didn't want to wait.
Now I cleaned up the kitchen while I waited for the coffee to brew. Now working on email.
I have a few chores - need to get the minutes done, I want to spot mop the bathroom - I already dustbusted, and I could use a little clean up of the office floor -- litter, LOL.
For now its email.

Sunday ...
Well I had a visit from Maintenance yesterday, my smoke alarm was chirping! It had started the other night and then it just stopped, I couldn't tell if it was the one in the living room or bedroom, LOL. Anyway it started up again, so they came really quickly and fixed it - it was the bedroom one.
Today I have Brunch, Bingo and Wine Social. Then II can relax at home for the rest of the day!
Maybe I will get around to the minutes, LOL, i did already do a couple of write-ups for the August Newsletter.
Back to clearing email and social media.

It's Home Blessing Day AND now we are in the bathroom and the laundry room, time to declutter the empty bottles and used up bars of soap that are taking up space in your tubs and showers.
I got the kitchen cleaned up and the dishwasher started while I brewed my coffee and took out the trash. I do have some recylcing to take out as well.
Also took the kitty water out to the plants and gave them some new fresh water. Now I am working on email and getting caught up on SM and BB.

OMG, my friend called me - the one who has been out of touch since May 20 because of a heart issue - and asked it I wanted to go get some Breakfast/Lunch!! i was so excited that I managed to get dressed and ready to go in the time it took for her to drive over her. Oh and she can now drive a car - before the opposing traffic made her dizzy, LOL.
I am so happy she is back to normal, it was great to see her and catch up on stuff.

It's Planning Day AND time to toss old towels and linens that just plain worn out. Toss them out of your bathroom linen closets. You can donate these items to animal shelters and kennels. For the laundry room you are to go diving behind the washer and dryer for those lone socks and dust bunnies.
Siince I went out I haven't done any of my normal morning chores, LOL, so now I have to get busy. Read the paper, play games, clear email catch up with Taran, see if there is anything else going on.
I did just clean up the kitchen while brewing my coffee, and I got the dishwasher unloaded.
So now off to email and Taran.

It's Procrastination Day AND time toss the old cosmetics that are out of date and out of fashion.
I brewed the coffee and cleaned up the kitchen, got the trash ready to go. Also ordered some kitty grass delivered and some treats from Chewy. I totally forgot when I was running around with my friend that I needed grass, it would have been a good chore and given her some more driving time.
Listening to my DayDrinkiing Podcast and I have planned to rotate the mattress, change the bed, take out the recycling and trash AND THEN hit the showers, LOL.
Oh and I need to find all the jewelry I want to sell and maybe make an appointment. We shall see.
Off to clear email and then listen to Taran.
