RN haha Dipo! I often wonder if a critter may wander into my house now that I have a doggie door.

RN a few years ago, unknown to us and during the night time hours a young opossum came through our doggie door and we found him in the morning hanging upside down on our banana stand. We removed the young opossum and dropped him off nearby a lake. I then removed everything from the counters/table, etc and disinfected the whole kitchen.

RN Grooch, good luck with the try out at your potential new job.

RN, I am so blessed to have the most amazing son. Starting a new cancer treatment (details in my folder), and I told him I'd be fine and friends had me covered in case I was done and out after.

He called me back an hour later and said "Mom, Em (his GF) and I have talked about it and we're coming up to take care of you. We want to be there for you. So please don't say no, what day should we be there?"

Dipo, opossums can climb high and squeeze through.

Naja, I hope Yolanda returns!

And Karuuna.. What a gift your son is.. And his fiancee too.

Okay!!! Then you have your point people to rally others who care about you to do specific tasks, as I just proposed in the other thread.

They don't need to do everything themselves, if they can rally others for specific things. You can tell the well-wishers who ask what they can do to contact your son or future DIL, then give them a card, and tell the well-wishers you will let them know to expect to hear from son and DIL for specifics.

Thanks, Juju, as I noted, I don't need things done. I have someone who cleans and does laundry, and has done it for years. Someone who tends my horse. Someone who tends my landscaping.

The last time I let people cook for me I ended up with a freezer full of food that I didn't care to eat... it was a mess. People just ignored my preferences and thought it was okay to bring whatever.

All I really need is someone to come in, heat up some food (that I chose), refill my water and let the dogs out - if I'm not able to get out of bed. Maybe clean up a few dishes. That's it. My needs are simple.

People are super kind, and I appreciate their kindness. They tend to overdo in my case, and it ends up being more exhausting than helpful.

I hope that doesn't sound ungrateful. I really don't want a lot of people coming by, and what few things I'll need my DS can handle.

Your son and his fiance are a blessing. So relieved they will be nearby to care for you. (My biggest fear is my cancer reoccurring, or being hit with some other massive medical disaster, now that I'm alone.)

RN reflecting back on yesterday. I was the designated driver and escort for my son’s first colonoscopy. Here I am this morning thinking about having a child that reaches that age. BTW this was just part of him getting a new doctor who wanted him to get a complete physical exam. Oh and he had no issues.

RN, OMG, I have a second possum!!! He is in the storage room. The Maintenance guy thought there might be 2 but I thought only one. This morning when I went to open the balcony door some things were moved around so I opened the SR door and peeked in and he was in the corner looking back at me.

Called maintenance.

RN, they think it is the same one, they released him in the field down the block and they think he just followed his trail and came back, so now they are going to call animal control to release him and then pour ammonia along the building wall to disrupt the scent.

I think i will see if I have some ammonia and pour it along the bottom edge of my balcony.

So many delays.. It really causes anxiety on top of the original anxiety.

I hope they get started soon. 💕

RN, Dang, took forever to get that blood test result, but all was well.

Insertion of the port was a breeze, we'll see how it feels after all the lidocaine wears off.
