This year we had no furbabies to help get through the annual war zone of illegal booming firecrackers and fireworks. It started at 6pm, got its craziest around 8-10pm and finally stopped at midnight. An illegal bomb went off across our alley and I actually screamed for my life! It scared me greatly. If I had a bull horn, I would have gone out there and yelled to STOP and some other choice words. I am getting a puppy in 2 weeks or so I'll need to look into how to keep our doggie from being scared to death next 4th of July.

RN Naja, I am so happy that you have your SS. Making a big credit card payment was such a smart move. Love hearing about your dogs.

RN Thanks, Christy! RN Sea, oh you know for sure I'm not letting Grey The Destroyer near anything he can destroy unless I'm with him. I didn't tell his folks, but I will if anything happens again.

RN UGGG, Grey is taking away my only 2 days off this month. His folks asked me if I would take him this Thurs through Mon. Which means he'll be here while I'm trying to watch the BB premiere.

RN I have a meet and greet with a new dog today. A Scottish Terrier. I've never had a good impression of them because it seemed like President Bush's 2 Scotties were always mean to people. I've never actually seen one in person.

RN: I just got a confirmation for a job interview for tomorrow at 4. I applied for it today, they started looking, I believe, July 5th. I need to get out of work at 3. Which hopefully, won't be a problem. It's a matter of if there will be someone else around. It's a family owned business and they are never around. Then I need to go home, change quick and get over there. I am not prepared at all. I need to find something to wear, figure out my references, and Yada, Yada, Yada. To add to it, the contractor is coming tomorrow to replace the big bay window. Just what I need. And to add to that, a friend I just texted to ask to use as a reference, he's in the landscaping biz and he told me the girls in the office are nice, but he's seen them crying in the office because the boss yells a lot. Well, the job pays double and my boss yells a lot, too, so there's that.

Thank you, you guys! Of course, I got a bad night's sleep. I had a hard time falling asleep and the dog had to go out twice. It's going to be a long day. Lol!

RN a customer just gave me a $20 tip. All I did was drag 4 cat mints (Nepita) on a cart to his truck.

RN Everybody! Please pray, send good vibes, or whatever it is you like to do....Yolanda may come come back! It's a slim chance, but if we put our mind power together, the most wonderful person I have met in many years just may come back! Here she is playing peek-a-boo with Bentley while she was staying here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpe2-kCbYX4

RN the interview went really really good. It's between me and 2 other people. But it's weird, because the woman who is in the position now is retiring. She did everything and is the only one who knows how to do what she does. He wants too break it up into different jobs. So, does he need more than 1 person? I don't know. Anyway, he knows my bosses because of the business they are all in. He offered to call them and let them know if I take the job. I told him no, that's my responsibility. And, to me, that's odd to even offer it. But anyway, I offered to work on one of my days off to see how I fit in and if I liked the job and he thought that was a great idea! So I will be trying it out on Tuesday, 8 to 12. He seemed to really really like what I sold. I hope I can live up to his expectations.

RN That sounds so promising, Grooch! RN Even before I talked to Yolanda, she had already told her family it's a possibility she will be coming back here, so that made me think it truly is something that could happen. She got a 50% pay reduction when she took this new job, and her husband is having trouble finding work (Houston area). I told her to bring her husband because she is in the position to hire him for the repairs for all the Sonics in the general area. He's the sweetest guy and barely speaks English. He stayed here for a week last time to help with the handyman stuff they needed to open the new stores. RN Missed almost a whole night's sleep because the 2 dogs I am watching are so scared of the thunderstorms. And they are LOUD! They started about 2:30 AM and are still going now, 6:45 AM. I think about 4 inches fell already so I'm in for a weekend of mud.

Oh, dogs that are scared of thunderstorms are so hard. One of my dogs is oblivious. The other is terrified, altho he has gotten better over time. Every time there's a big boom, I happily say "is that thunder?" (in the same tone you'd say "you wanna go for a walk"... like a game)... and toss a treat his way. He's gone from shaking and drooling and hiding in the bathroom, to curling up in bed with me, and even tho he's still concerned, he handles it much better.

RN, dealing with a trapped possum on my balcony. I can't figure out how he even got on it, I have metal gating across the railing and then on the outside the apartment put pigeon netting. the only thing I can figure is he squeezed thru on the sides where the railing doesn't meet the side of the building. II am also about ten feet up from the ground. He just strolled into the house last night, scarred the crap out of me and I ran over and he went back out and I closed the door and the cats have been very annoyed with me that they can't go out there. They monitored him all night!! so I am tired. LMAO, now there are 3 men outside on the balcony with a giant trash can, a couple of rakes to catch a maybe 12 inch long possum. They got him!! I think I found a gap where he probably came in, so I put a box against it for the time being and will tape a smaller one in later.

RN, that's a bit of excitement you didn't need, but so glad some folks came to your rescue, and to the possum's!
