I think you might have a new son, Naja, albeit one with only two legs and no fur. Oh well. There are advantages to having relatives with opposable thumbs.

RN I'm glad I got him dinner because it really broke the ice and I think he's more comfortable here now.

RN Sam Toyota is about to leave for work and I am going to ask him to bring the kitchen trash to the dumpster on his way out. It's already sitting by the door. This is a test. Endo checked the trash every day before he left. He was wonderful. I remember when NTB was here and as she was leaving for work one day, I asked her to take the trash. She said something to the affect of "I really don't want to smell like trash today". Then after a few seconds, she rolled her eyes at me and took the trash out.

RN I am very upset. A male dog jumped my fence and mated with a unfixed female I have here. I ran out and hit him with a stick but he was already attached. I already told the owners and I am waiting for their response. I am NEVER watching unfixed dog again.

RN I'm sorry Naja. From my point of view (but what do I know) it's not you're responsibility. If someone doesn't have they're dog fixed, those are the chances you take as an owner.

Well, I wouldn't be expecting a tip. I hope they see it that way, too. And Oops! I see I used the wrong spelling for "their" in my post above. The mistake is just glaring at me right now. Oh, well.

RN Here was his response. He's pissed! Client: Itβs going to cost me over $500 to get her neutered smh. We heading back into town now Then I responded Me: I am so sorry! Dogs can smell unfixed females from far away. There are cheaper places to have her fixed. Let me call my vet. Me: I found 2 cheaper places Hidden Valley Animal Hospital $402 Cedar Ridge $277 (by hy-vee on 23rd)

Well, he should be pissed at the owner of the unfixed male dog, not you. Tell him to take it up with them.

RN He seems cooled off. He even texted me thank you for the cheaper prices. I also sent him the link to KC Humane Society that does it for $190. Call me crazy, but I refunded them $50 to put towards Sheba being spayed. In the long run if I get to keep sitting her after she's spayed, it will make up for it.

I don't think it's crazy. And I'm glad he calmed down. Did you know she was in heat when he dropped her off? Or did it happen while she was with you already?

RN He said he thought it was over or almost over. But yesterday there was a trail of blood drops on the kitchen floor and I knew it wasn't over.

I think the key was in heat, rather than unfixed, but requiring your doggie guests be spayed (and even neutered). Best that they do get Sheba spayed.. If she was being shown and had to be whole (if they still require that) there is a day after treatment.. Glad he seems to have gained some perspective and must realize that he carries the ultimate responsibility for the situation. At minimum, he should have stressed that she might still be in season, so you could take her out on lead.

RN Here is how last night played out. About 30 minutes after they (Husband and wife, black couple, not that it matters) were supposed to be here after their flight landed, the husband texted me that their car broke down on the way from the airport, and his wife will be there in their other car shortly. I thought "Oh great, they'll be even more pissed off since the car broke down, too!" I have to admit, I was more scared to face the wife than the husband. LOL Here is the exact text I sent Sabrina after the wife picked up Sheba. "The wife wouldn't even acknowledge I was saying how sorry and upset I was about the whole thing. Totally acting like a . The only thing she said to me was "ok" when I said her husband has to ok the refund in his app. No other words. I even carried the dog food bin and put in her car for her and she didn't even look at me." ---------- Anyway, if I can make it through today without a bad review or them calling to report me, I'll be fine. The countdown starts.

Naja, this is the way I see it. The wife was having a horrible day. She had to fly. That is stressful enough. There was the dog incident and to top it off, her car broke down. And she was the one that had to pick up the dog. And who knows what else happened to her that day. Her not talking was probably because she was at the end of her rope and didn't want to take it out on you. Probably better to just say nothing, go home, get some rest and sleep on it. Hopefully, you both have a better day today.

Honestly, if you know the owner of the male, unfixed dog, they should be liable for treatment. You might suggest that. I think it's fair of you to have a no unneutered dog policy. But honestly, it was partially their fault for misleading you about her heat cycle.
