RN The dog that was dropped of last night (Bullet) has such a stinky bed and blankets! Can't the owner smell it? It was radiating off the bed and filling the room. It's all in the wash right now because I can't tolerate it. Double wash. I already gave Bullet a bath with these doggie bath wipes I have. They work so good! The owners always think I gave their dog a real bath when I use them.

Do you charge extra for a bath? They should pay...

IRN I don't charge just for the bath with the wipes. But I would charge $20 for a real bath. In the past I have given a couple of the long term boarders a bath for free. Like if they are here a couple weeks or more.

RN If anybody is shopping for turkeys, so far I have found Aldi has the best prices. I just ordered a small smoked one.

I live in TWO places during the year, NEITHER of which have Aldi's. Grrrrrr. Last year when we visited in Illinois, I went to three Aldi's in one day!! It would be fair to say I LOVE Aldi's.

RN Here's my crew today. I wish it wasn't rainy and so muddy outside! I have the kitchen floor covered in beach towels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ar8KDPM5XA

RN My next 2 1/2 weeks are crazy! Lines are boarding, dots are daycare, and 2 of the lines are actually 2 dogs from the same family. Max and FedX, and Sky and Rylee. Lots of days with 4 guest dogs, and Thanksgiving and the day before will be 5 guest dogs. I'm not taking anyone else for this month!

RN I am actually glad DDH and I decided not to get new carpeting yet when I was on my redecorating kick. We had decided to wait until the new dogs weren't puppies anymore. Only 7 more months until I can start saving for new carpet! eta: But I am thinking of going with some kind of hard floor this time.

I agree, an easier to clean floor is a good idea, but keep in mind that dogs slip on hardwood and can easily injure themselves. So even if you get hardwood, you'll need to consider area rugs to protect their legs.

Does that go for having tile floors as well with dogs, Karuuna? Great to see business going so well for you Naja!

Kappy, yes. They need a surface that is nonslip. Not so much for grabbing with their nails (altho they do that, it's less likely if you are practicing good nail maintenance), but for traction with their pads. I say this because I have seen too many dogs come thru the rescue, abandoned because people can't afford expensive CCL injury repair (anywhere from 4000 to 8000, depending on where you live). With dogs being neutered/spayed earlier than ever, we've seen a higher percentage of these injuries. And since Naja fosters, she doesn't know their medical histories and how at risk they are.

RN, a luxury vinyl plank flooring would work well. That is what my friend put in and she loves it with here gang of 4 little dogs and 2 cats. I know she does have a few washable area rugs as well.

Yes, that would be easier to clean, and would hold up better than wood flooring. Would still need area rugs... the washable ones are great! I have them, and love them.

RN Oh yes, my kitchen floor is covered in washable rugs. I've learned the biggest a machine washable one can be for your average front loading washer is the 5x4 one. These are the rugs I always get. I only do a "quick wash" in the front loader machine, air dry, and they come out great and last forever. An agitator and dryer will make them fall apart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Dylan-Solid-Diamond-Olefin-Beige-Indoor-Area-Rug-4-x5-4/229020302
