I find it ironic---gambling sites advertise on stations like ESPN and NFL station and during games. Athletes and ex-athletes do commercials for them. Sports gambling is huge business within the sports world.
Given the things players get busted for every year, gambling is pretty minor compared to most charges. Yet those players don't get banned

It’s because it calls the integrity of the sport into question, especially if a player bets on something that is impacted by his performance. I don’t know if Rose actually did that or just bet on other games. I think he just bet on other games, which I think is much less severe.

John Amos, "Roots" and "Good Times" actor, dies at 84
Actor John Amos, known for his roles in the acclaimed miniseries "Roots" and the CBS sitcom "Good Times," has died. He was 84 years old.
Amos' publicist confirmed his death to CBS News and shared a statement from the family. No details about his death were immediately available.
"It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned," his son, Kelly Christopher Amos, said in the statement. "He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved the world over."

Ron Hale, a veteran daytime television actor who starred on the ABC soap operas "General Hospital" and "Ryan's Hope," has died. He was 78. Hale reportedly died of natural causes.
Hale first gained fame as Dr. Roger Coleridge on "Ryan's Hope."
He played the recurring role of Mike Corbin, the father of mobster Sonny Corinthos, on "General Hospital."

Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, died after falling from the third floor of a Buenos Aires hotel, police say. He was 31.
Buenos Aires police said that personnel from the 14B Police Station went to the hotel on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a 911 call about an aggressive man who was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The police’s statement did not identify that person as Payne.
The musician was best known as a member of the famed British boyband One Direction. The band, which also included Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, first formed in 2010 after each member appeared on the UK version of reality competition show “The X Factor.”

Kentucky state Sen. Johnnie Turner, known for his staunch support for the coal industry and other causes in his Appalachian district, has died after being injured at home last month when he plunged into an empty swimming pool while aboard a lawn mower. He was 76.
Turner, a Harlan Republican, was known for his folksy manner that endeared him to constituents and colleagues alike. Turner died Tuesday evening after his "hard-fought battle" with injuries sustained in the accident, Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers said in a statement Wednesday.
