I really like windows 11. My desktop that I use most was able to update(5 years old), but my laptop won't. I got it summer of 2013. It's a shame since it an intel core i7 with 16 gigs ram, nVidia graphics, 17.3 inch screen.
I really only have one problem with windows 11. It will go long spans where when I shut down with the controls on the screen, it will restart instead of shut down. And I have to use the button on the tower. Then one day it will be fine for a long stretch, until it goes back.
Otherwise, Windows 11 seems nice to me.

Naja, thanks for that. I constantly worry that they will force me to upgrade without permission.
As I said, whenever they issue just a security update to 10, I am unable to print for a day or two. Until they send me another security update to fix the problems they caused. It's maddening!

My desktop will not be able to use Windows 11.. So it is 10 until that stops working.
I did get a laptop that I use for Balance and Mobility class on zoom and it came with Windows 11.

My email keeps getting blocked. I don't understand it.
How can I free up disk space on my chromebook? It keeps saying it is low on disk space. I cleared all of my history and such that is advised. Some of my pictures say they cannot be deleted. I don't know why not.

Also, On my Dell, I bought a couple of external drives to keep from filling up my disk space on the laptop years ago. Haven’t had an issue since.

My son got a letter from ALEA--Driver License Division. It said his license expired but can be renewed online. So I tried it, A pop up came up that said his information could not be verified. I wrote and told them that. At first, they wrote me back and told me to put exactly what I put on the form, so I did. After that, everytime I tried to write, it came back saying it was blocked. That was with Gmail. Then I tried again with my hotmail(outlook) and it is saying it's blocked, too. I have thought about buying extra disks for the chromebook, but haven't done it yet.

I've got more problems now. My Google Play Store is not coming up and the search for it is not there either. Usually I can just type Libby Or Tablo or whatever.

For those who have a Windows 10 desk or laptop, I just got a pop up on my laptop saying that Windows 10 laptop will no longer be supported after October, 2025….. That is, no system updates on Windows 10 after that date.
Since my laptop is not compatible to upgrade with Windows 11, I guess I’d better plan on getting a new computer before then.

Thanks for the heads up, Kooklie. At that point, I'll have either closed my business, or it will drive me to close it. Not going to bother with a new laptop and all that set up.

Mine is personal use computer only, the problem is that I do a lot of photography. Every time I’ve switched to a new computer, my photo links and tags are all messed up taking forever to fix. Sigh. But, it’ll have to be done.
I’d switch to Apple, but think that tram would be much worse.

Yeah, I only use the PC for printing postage, because stamps.com doesn't have an online version.
I suppose I could look at some of the other discounters to see if they have Mac versions, but again, I'd have to figure out the integration of getting customer addresses to the software.
And my mac is only on 10.15 which is a couple behind as well. Since I use the Mac to print out products, upgrading the system, like you, can be a nightmare, since it can change the way the fonts interact and screwing up all my layouts!

I have gotten used to 11, it's not so bad once you work with it a while. But I can imagine how difficult it will be Kookliebird to fix all the links.

New Q: Occasionally my computer Be-boops at me and says "A device you added is not recognized". This is happens when I move my mouse, it is a wired mouse. So I pull out the attaching thingie, plug it back in and it says it recognizes it.
My question is, does this mean the mouse is going bad? My computer is newer, has windows 11. I tried switching it to another port and it still did it.

Just off the top of my head, it might be a driver problem with Windows 11 and your mouse is pretty old. Try typing Device Manager into your WIN 11 search box and then scroll down to mouse/mice/pointing device, and see if there is any indication there that you need to update the driver. And if you do find that, there will probably be a button/link in there that will help you update the driver.

This isn't a computer problem, I am just looking for an app for the PC.
Does anybody know of a calendar app for PC that has giant day squares and you can type right in the squares?

I use Google calendar, esp like it because it syncs to my phone. It's sort of what you are looking for, but a box does open so you can better see what you are typing.
It looks pretty similar to your white board, where it puts bars for events that last more than a day (altho they are all the same color). I'll add a screen shot but will delete once I know you've seen it. I use it to keep track of my endless doc appts, puppy care for my granddogs, civic meetings, repair appts, everything.
