Yes, we live in an over-55 condo community with paid gardeners, so we are restricted to growing certain plants in pots. We have lots of pots, like lots and lots of pots.

We have gardeners for all outside areas except our private patios. There are some people with pots by front door.. Lots of rules but nice having all the grass and trees.

RN 9 hours so far that we haven't had power from the storm. I hope it comes back soon because today is the day they're supposed to replace the attic fan at 9:00 a.m. that's about 3 hours from now.

RN This is Stormy the hurricane dog I'm watching. She's about 2 years old and they couldn't find her family after one of the hurricanes, so they sent her up here to be adopted. An older couple adopted her. She's very sweet and playful, but she has no manners. Doesn't even know how to sit and they've had her for a year. She's peed about 6 times on the kitchen rug even though she knows how to use the doggie door.

Lol. Well it's 18 cents more than you had before. Congrats! Plus, if you save it for a trip to Canada, it's worth a whole 25 cents here. 😇 (I googled.)

Naja.. I think Stormy needs some training. Have they ever left her overnight? I wonder if she is worried that she has lost her family again. Or, she just likes to pee?

RN Stormy and her sister just went home. Sea, this is the first time I watched them. She is so loving and playful that it didn't even cross my mind she could be upset. But maybe. Kar, Good call that maybe she has and infection. I'll text the owners in a few minutes. They are coming back for Memorial Day weekend.

Did they mention if she was peeing a lot at home? I did assume that it happened just in a new place and if she lost her family in a disaster, a new place could bring back that trauma. But they should consider checking for UTI, especially if she is peeing more at home, inside or outside.

Sea, that is a good point, but I was hoping that if she wasn't housebroken at home they would have mentioned that? Maybe. But maybe not.

RN I always ask at the meet and greet, and Stormy is potty trained at home. I think it was nerves. They said she's been fine at home since she left. eta: If she's going to pee somewhere, the kitchen is the best place. I'll put pee pads down in place of the rug when she comes back for Memorial Day weekend. Who knows? Maybe she won't be nervous this time.

Poor dear. Housebreaking can be home selective unfortunately. The next time she comes, you would be doing them and her a favor by tethering her to you as often as possible and taking her out every hour. Then reward when she pees outside. If she is housebroken at home, she'll catch on quickly.

RN Naja, the 'potty pads' work great. I adopted a three year old dog from a local pet rescue last year. I laid a strip of the pads on the floor in one room. She gradually went from using them to going potty in her back yard. She used them right away when had to go potty in the house.

RN Today was the beginning of car care season at Mack’s. Between winter and the pollen season here I kind of take a holiday from detailing our cars. Today I hand washed both of our cars in preparation for hand waxing, etc, and it takes about three hours to rinse, foam, hand wash, rinse again, and hand dry two vehicles. It’s my thing, kind of a zen wax on wax off time for me. As a teenager a friend and I made pocket money detailing used cars at a car dealer on the weekends. Not only the money but I enjoyed it. Not happy until they shine and reflect like a mirror. Today I have all the gear and it’s a lot easier than 50+ years ago.

I just thought about the trauma of losing a family in a hurricane, possibly with flooding and how a pet would be so depressed then they get a new family and maybe worry that they will disappear. Maybe on the next visit they could leave an item with their scent for her,

RN I just had to rush one of the dogs to the vet. She got in a tiff with another dog and her bottom eyelid split open and was hanging down! Luckily the eyeball is fine. I just got home from leaving her there. They have to sedate her to do the stitches, and they'll call me to pick her up when it's done. She'll have to wear a cone. Thank God the owners are being so understanding.

And i'm sure you know that the rest of the time both of those dogs are at your place you must keep them completely separated. One "tiff" highly increases the likelihood of another.

RN Thankfully that other dog is just a daycare dog. He goes home at 5 PM. He's also a small dog. The dog that got hurt is very toy aggressive. The other dog got too close to her ball, she snarled out and startled the small dog, and then the tiff happened. It was fast. Literally one of those 1 second tiffs. It was over and they went their separate ways. I didn't realize anything was wrong until a minute later when I saw blood.
