RN I woke up so sick today that I couldn't go in for my final dentist appointment to have my front teeth fixed. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks! I'm just going to spend the rest of the day in bed. Luckily I only have one guest dog here and he's tiny. He's in bed here next to me.

Do you have any Covid tests in the house, Naja? If not, do you have any nearby neighbors who like you and might have any old tests they can run over to your porch?

I live in a very blue town, and a bunch of folks we know are coming down with Covid AND their relatives who do not live near us.

AND when I go to doctor appointments within the past couple weeks, the doctors AND staff are now wearing masks.

RN Definitely not covid. I'm better today but Mom and Aunt Nancy decided to fill me on a hereditary condition that happens to the women in our family when we get older, and I think that's what it is. Mom said "Granny, Nancy and I all have vertigo due to an inner ear problem." And the same thing happens to them. They wake up so nauseous and dizzy and can't do anything until it wears off. They said to get meclizine.

I wouldn't assume anything but get tested and also diagnosed. Hope you feel better.

I would be thrilled if my doctor and staff were masking when I go in tomorrow. He does put a mask on for my appointment.

I hope you feel better quickly, Naja.

RN 24 years ago Mrs Mack and I went to work in the Pentagon. It actually was a beautiful day., at least it started that way. It turned out to be a day we will never forget. Turns out Mrs Mack is in DC this week on business. She text me this morning it is strange and a bit unnerving to be there today as the local news is replaying the events of 9/11. This actually is the first time we’ve be apart on the anniversary of 9/11.

RN. Thank you for sharing, Mack. My cousin, who lives in Philly, was in NYC on 9/11. He doesn’t talk much about it, other than it took him forever to get back home. His cell phone wasn’t working consistently, so he couldn’t contact the family.
I was in Palm Springs on vacation. Normally, I have a radio on in my hotel room and am a light sleeper while traveling. So, I heard about it as it happened. Surreal. Not sure what to do when nothing can be done. I couldn’t cry for the longest time. At one point, I contacted my elderly parents, as I was worried that it might be too much for them. I suggested they not watch the coverage too long. I learned that having been through WWII probably gave them a strength for dealing with this type of event that I did not have. It was such a horrible time.

RN I was working at a Target at the time and I couldn't believe some people kept shopping. As soon as the second tower was hit, the gas station across the street instantly got a line a mile long and traffic got totally clogged because of it. The skies went completely quiet. It was eerie.

RN Watching TV eventually became too much for me to even bear. I couldn’t imagine the grief of the families affected by the attack… I think of the firemen, entering the towers as people were fleeing, just doing their job. We didn’t really know what heroes were until that day. Then I couldn’t stop crying.

West Coast, so when I went online at my computer, I had emails coming in from two groups from the first tower and from then was watching tv.. Checking on people from here and those 2 groups who lived or worked in those places and my sister in law who could easily have been flying home that day.

And the BB feeds showed those last 3 houseguests, who didn't know. Dr Will noticed there were no flights. Monica later was told her cousin was missing.

I put up my flag, left the porch Light on 24/7 to keep the flag illuminated. The bulb failed on 9/11/2002.
Mack, it has to be so unsettling to be apart 0n this day especially in these bizarre times.

We stopped on the way home to get groceries and fill up my SUV as we had no idea what the next few hours and days would be like. I put our flag out as soon as we got home and like Sea I left it up with a light on it for weeks. Over the following month we went to more funerals and memorial events than I can count or actually want to remember.

Today, on Facebook, TSA posted the tragic events at the same time they occurred on 9/11. It was heartbreaking.

(((Mack and Wife and to everyone else today)))

Between my emotions for today, and what happened yesterday and the reactions from it, I am just at a complete loss.

RN Molly the dog was just dropped off. She's one of the dogs that couple charging ridiculously low rates stole from me. I asked her dad Gary what happened to them. He said they quit. That's it. I wanted a juicy story.

Mack, my day was filled with a new flood at home, but I have thought about you and Mrs Mack, as representing so many affected that day. What a horrible time, though it was a time of solidarity too. My light because it drives me crazy seeing flag etiquette ignored.

In subsequent years my flag pole broke..

It also is the day when one of my dearest cancer patients passed in 2016. So, continue to rest in peace, Barbara Magana. I still remember you.

RN I don't believe it. Late last night, Mr. Handsome booked a stay for Aurora. Just daycare for today. Haven't seen them since March. I'm sure he's going to the Chiefs game today.

I had also wondered about that guy and his dog, but I have traveled a lot this year, and time does get away from us seniors ...
