Rn I didn't get the job.
I showed up at the job today to work, and when I entered the office building, I ran into the owner and he took me to his office. He told me they decided to go in another direction and they hired somebody else. He said didn't so and so send you an email? I said no, and that I checked my email before coming this morning to make sure nothing had changed. Then he said she should have called me. Something about he was on vacation last week (huh? I met with you last week.) And that so and so is on vacation this week. So, it was a mix up. I was polite and gracious and told him basically, no problem, and if the new person doesn't work out, or if another position opens up, he has my resume and we've already interviewed.
Oh, well. Things happen for a reason. His loss.

RN, I got another possum visitor (cousin number 3 or the same guy) at 5.44am and after he rooted around in a couple of white Safeway bags, one with dirt and the other with swept up balcony dirt, he went into the SR to the back corner for a nap.
Maintenance just took him away. I think he is climbing the grate that covers the hole in between the floor and the garage pony door. There is a gap there between my railing and the balcony floor.
Maintenance guy said they are waiting for something to be delivered. I was thinking a stipe of screen would work, but we shall see what they come up with.

RN, Grooch...so sorry to hear about the job. That certainly was a weird way to find out. I love your statement that "things happen for a reason". It was the job's loss and I will hope you find another job soon. Take care.

RN I’d say you should feel lucky Grooch. Not sure I’d want to work for a company that is that unorganized or the finger pointing. Maybe it was innocent confusion but the buck passing on whose fault it was is not a good sign.

Well.. what Karuuna said about possibly dodging a bullet was exactly what came to mind for me.. I hope you find something far better.
And agree with all comments here..
Dipo, you have persistent possums.
One good thing is that possums, due to low body temperature, rarely carry rabies and they are considered good for the environment as they eat ticks and other insects as well as rodents. They do look scary.. Those teeth.. And they do rile up cats.

We have them here in San Antonio. Not a big problem as they don’t do much other than steal our outdoor cat’s food.

RN One of my worst memories has to do with possums.
It was probably around midnight and I was sitting out on the deck back when I smoked years ago. And there was a possum crawling along the top of the fence. The neighbor's beagle (it was an outside dog) kept barking at it. I guess my neighbor was so ticked that his dog's barking woke him, that he ran down his deck stair, picked up the possum and threw it far into the front yard, and them proceeded to kick and kick his beagle in the manner that Tony Soprano would kick a guy on the ground who owed him money. He didn't know I was in the dark next door on my deck seeing this, so I coughed on purpose and he stopped and went in. For the next few days the dog limped and wobbled.

RN I just finished a meet and greet with an Australian Shepherd that was SO beautiful. Everything went great and they booked the stay. One more meet and greet in a half an hour with a 9 yo Labrador. I hope this one goes as well, but I doubt it. I've never had them both go great when I've had 2 in one day.
BTW.... I ended up having to make myself available to new clients again. Just a few weeks off for new clients and I dropped from number 1 in the search to number 4. So I decided to go back and build myself up again.

RN here are both of my German Shepherd charges tonight.
On the left is Roxie. 1yr 9 mos
On the right is Apollo. 9.5 mos
Apollo goes home tomorrow, Roxie is here for about 10 days. She so wild and loud, it makes me absolutely crazy.
