You certainly have a way with people and dogs, Naja..
Hope the guy likes the room and you and dogs like him.
The friend I am renting from won't be back from Hong Kong until April 28.
I am able to be noisier talking to my cat, electric toothbrush, tv.. And I now have headphones that hopefully will allow me to watch tv. She goes to bed so early.
I have had a bit more use of fridge space, but can adapt easily.
I just use my area, as she doesn't have living room set up to hang out furniture wise.
Mostly I want to be home, but it won't be soon.
Anyway, you obviously have been able to really make people feel right at home!!!

RN Look at what I babysit next week. His name is Gunner. He's a friend of the mini doodle Rosso I babysit. They'll both be here. Their Mom's are friends vacationing together.

Naja, I think a lot of Seamonkey's saga is in the weight loss thread, or her folder.
Basically there was some kind of flooding issue (broken pipe) that caused damage and mold to her place, so she has to be out until it's fixed... which is taking an extraordinary amount of time.

Yes..weight loss. Damage on both floors plus ground floor next door, three insurance companies, huge nightmare since October 8.
And now plumbing disaster where I am staying.. And the friend letting me rent a room and bath with my cat is in Hong Kong and doesn't know. Second visit by plumber today.
Cute pup and nice that he and Rosso can vacation together!! Their moms can share the videos.

I do pay rent, but less than staying at a hotel. But I am stressed and so is she.
Also will be a relief when she gets back home through ICE.

I hope you're not paying much. I have to keep my rooms at $750 a month because it seems like every time I try to go to $800, I don't even get nibbles on the rooms.

I am paying $212.50 a week. Room and attached bath. With my cat.
I had to get internet and tv installed and pay for that
1/2 electric and gas, which is very low.
I can use kitchen, washer and dryer.
Way back in October, I checked on boarding my cat and it was almost $50 a day! And she would have been cooped up and not with me. Here we share the single bed and I am mostly in the room when I am home.
Parking not included, but friend Lorna lets me park at her place in same mobilehome park.
So California rents are incredibly high, so this is a good deal.
At a motel it would be more money and less secure. Here the door to our area doesn't open to outside like it would at most motels, there would be a pet fee. And probably shady people.
Just browsing, I see one unfurnished room, shared bath with 3 males for $950 .. I need bathroom for litterbox. Full month deposit, background check...
Others are over $1200 and on up.

Sea, it has to be a super hardship what you are doing now, But I think you made the best possible compromise to keep you and your companion together. I just hope the whole thing ends soon, and you can get back to your regular life.
Also, Naja, your latest client is just adorable.

RN Well, I have a new tenant Thank goodness. He gave me a deposit, and I had to give it to the plumber 
He's very nice. Justin, 43 yo machinist, looks like a younger Arte Lange. The chubby guy who used to always work with Howard Stern. He actually submitted to a background check. He's never even had a traffic ticket. He was married and lived in Florida until he divorced and came back here and stayed with his Mom. He grew up here. Anyway, his Mom has gotten a serious boyfriend that's going to move in, so he's moving out. He's moving in the 11th, the same day as my SS phone appt.
