RN Thanks, all of you. You're right. It wasn't even the rake incident that did it. It was when Naveen was all the way across the room chewing on a toy. Minding his own business and really getting into it. Max was on the couch next to me. Max's head popped and started staring at his brother really hard. With purpose. Then in a snap he jumped up and was across the room attacking his brother before I could even blink. I mean for no reason at all. That really scared me.

Oh dear, I hadn't heard about that incident. Yeah, you can't have that. It's just too much of a risk! I hope that woman gets help with Max, because that's just a bad risk for poor Naveen also.

RN She cancelled for Naveen just now, too. She wants the boys kept together so she thanked me for all I did. So that's the last of both of them, I guess.

Naja, I think that's for the best. I hate that she doesn't see that Max isn't good for Naveen tho. I see real trouble when Naveen gets to emotional maturity and decides he won't take Max's aggression. It will be a bloodbath.

RN I do feel relieved. Plus, now I can over-book Thanksgiving with all the dogs I know are sweet and rake in some good holiday rates. I couldn't with the pits here.

And even if she paid enough to give you the amount of money you would get for more dogs, you might lose some of the sweet dogs to another dog sitter if they use them at Thanksgiving. And you have to protect your own dog who was harmed by the reactive pit. Because just banishing the rake doesn't mean he wouldn't react to any number of other items in your environment.

Well, clearly he does react to other dogs with toys... so not good.

Oh, of course! And since all the other dogs love toys, that would be harder than banishing rakes, brooms, swiffers, etc.

RN It's all life lessons for me. Like with the Nun. I will never take a tenant who doesn't have a clear date to leave (unless Yolanda come back), and I will never let a dog come back that shows any aggression. To dogs or to people. And I won't be afraid to tell them.

RN The Endo Tech is supposed to come October 6. I talked to him yesterday. He is actually still waiting for the final confirmation of the job, which should be within a couple days. I vote we call him just Endo from now on. LOL I know he wants the room for sure because no one is closer to his hospital than I am. Only 2.5 miles.

RN He is crazy tall and has a wacky beard. Here is his LinkedIn photo with his wife and grandkid. It's a public photo, but I still blocked out the faces. He's from Tennessee.

RN Yay! All dogs have gone home! I am free and clear until Wednesday, and then a non-stop marathon of dogs starts straight through October October 27 without a break.

RN our friend who lives kind of half way between Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia still has ten people living with her from the initial thirteen refugees. The ten include her son and his family and five others. The others are kind of a strange mixture of acquaintances, literally friends of friends who our friend has never met. All of them live in Augusta but have no power or water so people reached out to whoever they could think of to find them temporary housing. Our friend lives in a very large home with six bedrooms. Interestingly she just sold the house because it was too much for her after her husband passed away this past February. Not sure when she has to move out but she’s moving to Augusta which obviously problematic.

I was zooming yesterday with QuaranTUNE, where musicians, singers, songwriters perform four 5 sessions over 4 days. They also have workshops going on. Anyway, because the mountain and hammered dulcimer are most used instruments, along with guitars, banjos, autoharps, fiddles.. there is a real Appalachian connection, and there were people unable to attend due to the extensive damage and lack of power. The host and several others got choked up just talking about it and songs were dedicated, one even added new lyrics. Kris Kristofferson was remembered with a wonderful rendition of Me and Bobby McGee by the host. She is collecting money and instruments for the time when musicians, especially young ones, who lost their instruments in the flooding, can be given replacements. This is just an extension of what they already do to gather donated dulcimer and give them to young musicians. I get to go to another session today, tomorrow, and two on Sunday, plus on Sunday I have a virtual performance of John McCutcheon to attend. He lives in Georgia, and is heavily involved in Appalachia, musically and socially, so I am sure he will speak about the situation.
