I actually had met Ted Bundy before. He and I had two or three classes together at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He left after his freshman year and I didn’t see him again until he showed up working on Dan Evans Governor of Washington reelection race in 1972. I mistakenly posted it was Evans’ Senator race but that was years later as Dan Evans served three terms as Governor. Anyhow, by 1972 Bundy had adopted this clean cut college preppy look and manner. He was pretty popular and well thought of back then. Law enforcement is still not sure of exactly how many murders he committed but they may have started in the early 70s.

So interesting how charming he was. My grandpa was a snow plow driver in the CO mountains and came upon a dead woman. There was speculation she may have been a Bundy victim. Stories lost to the passage of time.

There are several unsolved murders of females in Seattle-Tacoma area from that time period and there is speculation that Bundy might be guilty of them. He hinted that there were more than the 30 broadly accepted murders he was either found guilty of or later confessed to. He dangled that in hopes of getting his execution delayed or turned into a life sentence. It didn’t work and he was executed in Florida in 1989.

Dame Maggie Smith has passed away at age 89. I have liked her for years and her more recent roles in the Harry Potter movies and the Downton Abby series were some of my favorites. 😢

John Ashton, best known as detective sergeant John Taggart in “Beverly Hills Cop,” has died. He was 76

John David Ashton ... the actor best known as the hard-nosed, by-the-book detective in the "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise has died, TMZ has learned.

John died peacefully Thursday in Ft. Collins, Colorado after a battle with cancer ... his rep tells us.

During his 50 years in Hollywood, John appeared in more than 200 film, TV and stage productions ... but he arguably became a household name when he co-starred alongside an up-and-coming Eddie Murphy in 1984's "Beverly Hills Cop."

I was thinking how he already didn't look too well in the last Beverly Hills Cop movie.

Does it seem like famous people keep dying in this latest batch? I usually read and catch up or some times comment a few words. Now, I don't even want to look.

This is a tough one. The whole gambling thing tarnished so much but I loved his ability, intensity and enthusiasm as a player. Such a shame.
