Coastal bluff collapse in wealthy Calif. town caught on camera
The coastal erosion occurred early Monday evening on a steep bluff in La Jolla, the community north of San Diego proper. The tumbling dry sand sent clouds into the sky as onlookers watched, though no injuries have been reported. Visible trails of soil could be seen along the bluff wall near Torrey Pines even after the primary collapse and avalanche of debris had stopped.
While the bluff collapse was not known to have caused any damage to homes or nearby trails, it does serve as a stark reminder of the fragile nature of coastal life in California

Wierd out ... skies are white, hazy, maybe it's cloud, I see a small patch of blue to the south.
Hmm, forecast is mostly cloudy with a small craft advisory!
We do have a good breeze/wind and temps are only going up to 75.
Fall has moved in for a couple of days.

A new tropical storm in the Central Pacific today. Tropical Storm Hone could strengthen by the weekend. The latest forecast shows a track close to the islands (especially the Big Island)...possibly moving to the south.

Odd weather ... cloudy skies, no sign of blue skies, a good breeze, forecasting rain for some areas, not mine, LOL. Temps going to 78.
Also we grew a ton of mosquitos with the previous rain and now have a surge of West Nile disease!

A wildfire ignited by lightning on Aug. 3 in the southwest corner of Sequoia National Park has been quiet for the past week but exploded Tuesday into Wednesday amid dry, hot weather, growing nearly 25% in size and triggering evacuations, officials said.
