Hecka - I work in child support now. Your son can call the Friend of the Court (or whoever is in charge of child support in your state) and ask if they've suspended his license or if there is a bench warrant active for him. They will not only tell him but tell him what he has to do to fix each issue. Our enforcement officer works w/the payers all the time re: support and how much is feasible to be paid each month - even if the entire amount can't be paid.

Do you guys think Tiger Woods is going to play in the Masters? It still has him listed as playing, but he still about 16 days to pull out.

It’s a crap shoot. I think he may start but not finish. His body is just too broken.

I ordered a cheap chaise lounge cushion from ebay. A couple days later I get this message from the seller. WTH? I can't tell if it's just going to be late or if it's not coming at all. "Dear Buyer. We contacted the staff and we are sorry that the logistic problem still cannot be solved. We would like to make this business with you, but met force majeure resistance, again, we apologise. We look forward to hearing from you. Best regards "

This sounds like English as a second or more language. Hard to say what they mean but I suspect you’re not getting whatever you ordered. Hopefully you can get your funds back or make some arrangement with them.

No, it's not cancelled. Arrival date says the 19th - 24th, so maybe the word mash up there just means means delayed.

I have had that happen a couple of times on Amazon.. in one case the price was good and on sale and tracking showed it in So Cal but moving away from me and I had the option to cancel and finally got a robot that gave me option to just re-order and then if I ever got the first one, I could send it back for no charge else I'd get double charged. The second one arrived quickly and, as expected, I never got the first one, so I did get the sale price. In your case, Naja, being ebay I don't know what to think in terms of actually getting the item if it was a unique item. Odd message.. And you do need a cushion for your newly painted lounge..

I couldn't find "mash up" in the message so I a confused about what you mean as well! True comedy of errors!

I just got a tracking number that says my cushion will be here Saturday, so that message must have meant there was a delay.

Another question. For our gas bill, we've always been on "budget pay". Or the original "Level Pay". My question is....Are you supposed to get a refund after a period when you've over-paid? The past 13 months I've paid $1,625. (13x$125) But the actual bills total is $770. That's a big difference! And yes, both numbers are including all the little charges, taxes, etc.

I think I figured it out. When DH was alive, we had to keep the house super warm. I seem some of those bills were way over $300. Once he was gone, I never had the heat above 66 and plus it was like we didn't have a winter this year. So Think what happened is level pay just recently got the bill caught up from back when the 125 was underpaying.

Naja you should check with them and make sure they adjust your payments lower now. Our level pay has you pay enough thru the year that your payments and billings end up the same at the end of the year. Yours seems like you have paid too much. So I would check and see what the deal is, make sure it is what you think.

How do you dispose of old fire extinguishers? They are considered hazardous material. In our township, they hold a waste disposal day 3 times a year. Each one in a different town. But, they won't let you drop them off there. I asked a local fireman if I could drop it off at the fire house. Nope, and he had no clue where to get rid of them. Not supposed to throw them out with the trash. I'm out of ideas and I must not be the only person who needs to get rid of one.

Apparently there are some places (state, county, city) that allow them to be recycled (the metal part) or taken to hazardous waste collections, but googling here (Orange County, CA) it lists 6 places that sell, service, repair fire extinguisers and may have other fire safety items . they come up from a search on disposal of fire extinguishers.. A couple of the companies are "fire protection"/ I need to recycle mine for sure. Has to be 25 years old I DO have a fire blanket, touted as faster, easier, more effective and not so messy. I don't really cook anyway but just in case...

This is totally ridiculous. Our county is made up of townships. I checked the township next to the one I live in. Not only is their hazardous material collection open just about every day of the year (mine only collects 3 days out of the year, and I can only go on one of those days, because on the other 2, they are to far away and difficult to get to) and that township allows getting rid of a plethora of items that mine won't take. INCLUDING FIRE EXTINGUISHERS! And I'm not allowed to take my stuff to the other township. This is ridiculous and no wonder why people dump things in the woods.

Can you call your local fire dept and ask? Or we had a company that came and recharged ours periodically...someone like that might know?

In Portland, we can take fire extinguishers to our hazardous waste facility. Alternatively, some fire stations will take them for recycling.

Kar, I had asked a local fireman, and he had no clue. The fire department is volunteer and doesn't have to many people in it, so if he doesn't know, I have my doubts the rest would know. What I should do is call the local bar and have the bartender ask the regulars about it. It will give them something new to talk about that's not politics. And I'll call back later for their answer.

If you asked on NextDoor you would get a lot of comments and of course it would veer into politics too.
