Saw a cartoon a year or so ao of a Christmas tree with a Halloween pumpkin under it with a bow on top and a turkey on top in place or the tradition al star or angel!

There's a commercial that's been playing on tv for the past year with the song "It's a Most Wonderful Time of the Year" playing. I absolutely hate hearing it outside of the holiday season. I swear that commercial has caused me to hate the song now.

My neighbor from across the street knocked on my door last night. She said she had gotten an email saying her package had been delivered and it had not. She wanted to know if I had seen anything. I had not. I hate when that happens. About a week ago, I had gotten en email saying now that I had received my W-2, I should do my taxes. I did not receive it till several days later. So I'm aware of the phenomenon.

In the past year or so, Ive noticed that people under 35 constantly have containers of water with them everywhere they go. Is this a thing? Are they worried there isn't enough water? Is there something besides water in those containers?

People of all ages here can be seen carrying water. Staying hydrated is a good thing.
I do wonder how many are actually drinking caffeinated, sugary liquids, though...

JMO, Irritated by these Palestinian protests that have shut down two of our bridges so people can't work. I am not impacted by it because I am retired but it pisses me off.
The Palestinian's started this whole thing by putting Hamas in power, who then bombed Israel, so don't tell me you are the victims!
It just makes me support Israel more. I am not feeling more sympathetic to the Palestinians even tho I know all of them are not in support of the bombing / raping / and killing of innocent Israeli's.

Can I just complain for a minute?! I've had two lightbulbs burn out in the past two days. They lasted no longer than the old-type of light bulbs. But they charge more for them. Supposedly they last 5 years. It's on the packaging. Bullcrap!

I was having a light bulb problem. I always buy GE bulbs -- at Target. I'm in a one bedroom condo. Five lamps with 100 watt bulbs are on a lot. (Other lighting too.) Bulbs never lasted long. More recently Target has same bulbs but LED. They cost a little more. I don't know if they ever burn out?! I have two GE 75 watt LED bulbs over my kitchen sink that are always on when I'm up. Can't remember the last time I had to put in new bulbs.

The ones I had that burned out were LED bulbs. It says on the packaging they last 5 years. They definitely don't.

Bulb brand? There was a time when Ace Hardware had their own brand of bulbs. They weren't good. Do you have some off-brand?

Walmart's brand--Great Value. The last ones I bought were even twice as much again--$9 for four. It says they last 18 years. They never do. I have bought other brands. I don't usually notice. All my bulbs seem to blow regularly just like the old filament bulbs did, regardless of brand.
Anybody seeing the northern lights in the sky the past couple of nights? People have been posting photos. I have not seen it here.
There is also an eerie sound in the air. People keep asking about it on Next Door.com. It's the cicadas. They sound different this time.

I noticed the eerie sound almost immediately when I stepped outside this morning. Then when I went to get gas I could tell it was cicadas in the trees by there.

I think it was cloudy here and no cicadas. I only heard them once when I was at a conference for a few days in Springfield, Illinois.

The cicadas usually sound different, more of a waah-waah sound. This time it's more of an eerie sound, like 50's space saucer sounds.They say it's because there are many more of them, possibly even billions. They say be more careful because snakes love to eat them, particularly copperheads. I did have a snake in my yard earlier this week, not a copperhead though, thank goodness. Probably a rat snake.

I imagine they do attract critters that like to eat them..
I suppose I'd get used to them. I already live with tinnitus and don't let it get to me, as some people do..

Oh, the cicadas are very loud now. And another bad thing about them, they are attracting snakes. I just saw another one in my yard. Ugh! That's two in less than two weeks! Ugh!
