Wish we had some wind here in Texas. Texas has huge windmill farms that produce the most wind generated electricity in the US. The problem yesterday was statewide the winds were so low a huge number of the windmills weren’t turning. Takes winds of at least 10 MPH but the winds dropped to 6 MPH and lower. Actually put the grid under stress and there were rolling blackouts. Didn’t help it was 100F pretty much across the state.

It's sort of cloudy and gray, like it might rain, except there isn't any rain in the forecast. Nice and cool with a good breeze, and temps will only go to 85. The Sun is predicted to come out for the afternoon. Apparently there is a low off the coast coming in to fight with the High over Arizona, LOL.

85 up here today in western WA State, and we had a neighborhood happy hour in the shade, and it didn't really feel hot at all. The health-compromised folks did not attend because of the wildfire smoke from both north and south, but it wasn't all that bad. Nobody who attended coughed.

So true ... And now we have Hurricane Idalia headed to take out all of Florida, either with rain or wind. Apparently this one is considered more of a wind event but there could be some storm surge on the west coast of Florida. A bunch of Hurricane Hunters are flying in tonight and tomorrow morning to try and improve the forecast.
