As I don't live in CA I probably don't understand the "courting customs" there, BUT, if your dining partner want a different person, why does't HE move? How did you become dining "partners" in the first place? Who sat down with whom initially? I typically eat breakfast with two ladies from my hall and the oldest (101) lady in the building. For the other two meals I try to move around and eat with a new group each meal. We have 2- and 4-tops, and there are some quartets that eat every meal together. BORING!!!

LOL... I don't want a dining partner. I want to read my book but some "ladies" told him to sit with me and he is from Bulgaria so doesn't always pick up on cultural clues so now if I go down to dinner that is my table and he sits with me. People get set in their ways with whom they dine, some of them have been eating together for years, so the easiest way to make a change is to go to late seating, then I can go into the back dining area.

Garlic Shrimp Linguine - Sauteed shrimp ina buttery garlic wine sauce served over linguine pasta and topped with Parm Cheese, parsley and lemon wedge
OR
Stuffed Cabbage Rolls - seasoned beef, brown rice and vegetables, stuffed in a cabbage roll, served over creamy polenta and topped with a tomato basil sauce.
Watermelon for dessert.

Well the linguine was great!! Watermelon was not the dessert. I think when they did this weeks menu they forgot to change the desserts, these are all the ones from last week.
BUT ... the berry crumb bar was fantastic!!

Sweet Glazed Meatloaf served over mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables
OR
Vegetarian Stew - slow cooked mixed vegetables in a tomato based stew with potatoes.
Cannoli's for dessert.
I had the meatloaf and it was excellent.

OR
Beef Stroganoff -- tender beef cooked in a mushroom sauce, served over Egg Noodle Pasta and Sour Cream.

Rosemary Chicken -- Garlic and rosemary roasted chicken served over creamy risotto with roasted squash and carrots
OR
Salisbury Steak -- seasoned grilled beef patty served over mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy and roasted vegetables.
Black Forest Cake for dessert.
