Got most of the house back together, just a few more things that I always forget about, LOL.
Got caught up on my games and now I am working on email and twitter.

Had the sprinkler / fire inspection this morning, I guess they have to go to each apartment and make sure the sprinklers have some thingie that makes them go off, LOL.
Resident Council is today at 1pm. I am running the meeting and then announcing that I will step down and Don will become President. Still wasn't able to find out what his big deal is about this because he has had 2 other opportunities to become President and didn't. I am starting to suspect that he doesn't know how to do it. He did say the thought the last President would "teach" him how to do it, I did explain there isn't anything to teach.
But I did recommend in one of the emails that maybe he would want to "observe" how I conduct the meeting. Anyway, I am getting my Red Book in order, my Staples order came with the dividers.
So now I am clearing email and getting my stuff ready for the meeting.

The meeting went great. I am amazed at how much people cannot hear even with hearing aids. I asked if there was a way to make the microphone less bass and more treble since I knew that the deeper sounds make it hard to understand the words and that helped a bit.
So now I need to make the minutes and agenda for the next meeting.
It is also amazing how some people didn't manage to get the minutes and agenda even tho it was delivered to their door, LOL.
I got several compliments about how I ran the meeting and hopefully the new President will follow suit (and he did get new hearing aids so was alert during the meeting).
Now to take a break and enjoy this beautiful day!!

LOL, at dinner tonight one of the former mean girls, Hilda, called me over and told me to watch out for the Head mean girl, Jan (apparently others call her Bad Jan as opposed to Good Jan who is a little spacy from her dementia). Jan happened to be sitting a few chairs away so I was amazed.
I had been wondering why the 4 mean girls, Jan, Hilda, Nancy and Judy had broken up but not heard. They used to always sit together and Hilda tells me that Jan did her "wrong" and to watch out because apparently she just doesn't like me.
I laugh to myself because I figure she doesn't like me because I stand up to her and won't let her push the other residents around if I am in the room, hahahaha. I really do live in Kindergarten and someone else described it.
Then the former President came up to me with a pile of papers and folders, so now I have even more stuff to figure out. Plus she implied that Good Jan is submitting to many bills for paper and ink. (I will have to look into whether she is giving us the same bill, thinking she hasn't already turned them in).
Now I just want to go vegetate until tomorrow.

Oh and now I see someone was sick while I was out so I need to clean the floors a bit. Done..
I forgot, Hilda wants me to arrange for a Spring Fashion Show; I tried to explain that those type things take some planning and we probably wouldn't be able to do it until next year.

We had one fashion show at our over-55 community the second summer we lived here. The clothing was from Christopher and Banks, a store I was not familiar with. And I had no idea the models were expected to buy at least some of the clothing they modeled, and I didn't buy anything. But not long thereafter, I saw they were having a 40% off everything in the store Sale, and I put out a notice to all residents, which probably got them a lot of business. And I did end up buying one of the outfits I modeled, as did a neighbor I first met while both of us were trying on clothes to model before the show. We both bought the dress and jacket I modeled and the blouse she modeled.
But I digress, as always. The fashion show was indeed fun, and a lot of people attended.

My sister is coming over to go to breakfast and catch up, looking forward to that.
Then we will tackle the balcony, I have a minor amount of wind damage to my catio. The upper left corner pulled away so is loose. Maybe we will hang some lights as well.
I also want to move the plants around a bit now that I know the "rain" patterns that come down from the upper balconies.
Other than that, my friend is coming over with Girl Scout cookies at 2:30pm.
It feels like a busy day! I also need to write up the minutes to the meeting while they are still fresh in my mind and work on all the requests / issues that came up.
For now, I want some breakfast and coffee, LOL.

Good to know Juju, I will have to see if there is any method of doing that here. I don't really know of any small stores but there might be something out there.

Dipo, NextDoor.com is sometimes your best friend, as they are mostly just regular people who know a lot of regular things. There would likely be people on NextDoor.com who know about what stores to use for putting on fashion shows at senior living places. This being-old shit can be quite fascinating, and, of course, beats the alternative.

Sunday ... A lovely day for a Spring walk.
Wow, never made it back here yesterday, LOL. Got a lot of stuff done. Had a wonderful breakfast, ended up having the leftovers for dinner.
Re-arranged the balcony and swept up all the fallen leaves and dirt. Found out the problem with my mint plant (which was so beautiful) was that is froze! Who knew, none of the other plants were affected.
So we trimmed that on and a few others so they can grow better this spring.
I had wanted to move the plant shelf in front of the AC unit because I was thinking this summer when I use it, it won't be impacted by the air that blows out.
Anyway, got all the boxes and recycling out, then the girl scouts came (my friends kid) and we sold a bunch of cookies to all the Bingo players and others.
Finally, Don - the new President, approached me to find out how he would get the minutes for the meeting. For the I don't know how many times, I explained the as Secretary I would be sending him them for review and correction along with a sample agenda. (It has been 2 days since the meeting, LOL).
So that was yesterday... I am tired and looking forward to a very quiet day. Some food, the newspaper, some computer games and just hanging out.
Oh, there is a Columbo Marathon, that ought to work well for a few naps, LOL.

Got thru my email and getting caught up on my laptop games.
Had an interesting brunch... one woman let me know that the people who eat at second seating knew who I am, LOL; another came over to ask about the "President Controversy", and another followed up on wanting a copy of the bylaws.
It did shed some light on why Don really wants to be President. Apparently he has a nephew that is encouraging him to get involved in things. I thought that his emails seemed a little "beyond" him so maybe his nephew is helping him write them.
Anyway I explained to the woman that it is totally fine for him to be President, that he was correct about the Bylaws and I will do everything I can to help him succeed.
Back to finish up email, twitter, etc.

Whew!! It is chilly!! Got the balcony opened up for the last time since the "Storm" is coming tonight.
Nothing going on today! YEAH!! I can have a normal day and get some things done.
I need to go thru the pile of stuff I have accumulated since the RC meeting, get the minutes started and send out stuff to those who requested items.
For now, Perry Mason, yogurt and the paper.

Did a Baking Soda / Vinegar sink cleaner for my kitchen sink, I think there is a clog down there since sometimes the disposal throws up on the other side.
Got my RC stuff organized into different piles / projects, LOL. I did get the minutes started and I now have a pile of folders from other people to go over. I ordered some dividers for the Living Room Book so I can put the minutes and Bylaws in it. That should be here in a couple of days.
Also balanced both my checking accounts and paid bills. Now I am playing June's Journey.

Getting started, it is kind of gloomy out.
Have a presentation on hypertension today, so will get stuff done around that.
Mostly just working on the RC stuff, and probably some dusting here and there.

The Dr. had a scheduling screw up and didn't come so we played "Older than Dirt" trivia.. People were already there for coffee and cookies so we just did triva instead.
It was really fun trivia. And apparently the Casino Trip got cancelled due to weather. I think that is a good idea, they shouldn't be driving a big bus / van in these high winds.
Time to clear email and twitter.

Slept in to the lovely rain, but had to get up once we got to the Market Update (on my news) and Perry Mason, LOL.
Quickly made a RC Letterhead so I could compose a letter to the bank to change the signers on the account. Sent that off to our new Treasurer.
Opened the door to grab my paper and my sheets had been returned from the cleaners. Time to change the sheets, so I put that on my list.
Now time for games and the paper.

So the Funeral people came and did a presentation today. It was actually fun and interesting. They did some funeral trivia at the beginning that was quite interesting. The only thing that is annoying is they wont give you a planning brochure without you meeting with them. I might meet with them but I think I wrote the wrong phone number down. I gave them my home phone not my cell, just added it into my mobile so I can find it in the future.
So now I am working on email, twitter and my new Seekers Notes game.

I feel like I have been busy all week with some sort of meeting going on every day, LOL. Not used to that in retirement, so today I am not going anywhere. I have ordered my dinner delivered and I may or may not work on stuff.
I did put the balcony back in order, the cushion on the chair, dumped the water off of stuff and then put the towels back down. The kitties have been runing in and out.
I made some coffee and then I cleaned up the kitchen, loaded the dishwasher. I do need to refill some water and soda bottles.
I need to quickly check my email then grab my coffee and play some games.

Got email cleared and cleaned up the kitchen. Just waiting for my Safeway delivery, listening to my DayDrinking podcast.
I am thinking about moving my printer closer to the desk since I now have a job, Resident Council, LOL, so I need to take some measurements and figure out where to put all the stuff that is on the bookcase now.
Logged all the activities onto my calendar from the new community calendar, so that is done.
Now time to finish with email, deal with twitter and finish up the first draft of the RC minutes.

Ok, I figured out that I can move the printer. The current bookcase has two shelves. so I will move the bottom shelve down further, then move the upper shelf down to the highest lower level. I will have to little storage areas and then one big area for the printer.
But first I am going to finish the minutes so I can send them out for review and comment.

Shoot, they secretly left my delivery on the front doorstep! They at least usually knock, and somehow they damaged two of the cans so soda was leaking all over. I didn't realize it until I picked it up off the floor and felt the bottom of the box was wet!!
Anyway I had to remove all the cans, wipe them down and then identified the leakers, then I had to wipe down the kitchen floor where it had leaked. This was particularly annoying because I hadn't planed on having to unpack the cans since I have to move the printer first and the sodas are usually on one of the shelves.
I did get all the cold stuff put away before I realized we had a leaker, LOL.
Oh and I finished up the minutes and sent those out, then I put together the RC Book for the Living Room. I had bought new tabs, then updated the minutes and bylaws areas.
Finally I have started the agenda for the next meeting.
Still working on twitter.

So much to do today, LOL, I want to move the printer and change the sheets, probably rotate the mattress - I really should look into getting a new one. That reminds me of a question I post elsewhere.
And then the RC Newsletter is going to interview me and I need to figure out when to do laundry, maybe Monday or Tuesday.
I have a play tomorrow, so it will be sort of a busy day.
My kitty grass came, so Nala and Sylvester are happy. For me I am going to grab some coffee and play Seekers Notes.

Got the bookcase cleared, moving the shelves isn't going to work exactly as I had hoped but it should be ok. For now there is stuff every in the office. Just grabbed the pledge to dust it down.
Got the interview done and had a nice chat. When I went down for dinner tonight I asked about my upstairs neighbor. I realized I hadn't heard any noise, in the past I would hear stuff that I figured out was a walker, and now there was nothing. I was afraid the very loud bag I heard a while back was him falling and he might be dead, LOL.
Turns out he did fall and broke his collarbone and is in the hospital. So now I know if I heard the loud bang again I will call down to the lobby.
Back to clearing email / twitter, cleaning the bookcase and getting the printer moved.

Printer put into the bookcase and is working again. Most things fit back but I have to figure out where to put a few things. That is for another day, I will ponder it and something will come to me.
Not going to get to the other chores today, maybe tomorrow. Oh I forgot, I need to unload the dishwasher too, I ran it this morning.
I did get email and twitter cleared so now I can play June's Journey.
