Oh yes, all the 'hygiene products' were just hinted at. Nothing spelled out so blantantly!

Brenda, now they pour a liquid into the pad to show you how much it can hold.

American commercials sound awful. I don’t recall seeing these at all. Of course, I fast forward through most of them.

I think I see a lot of them in the ads version of Hulu and Discovery+.

They are awful, I wish we could go back and make sure the Law/Rule that kept Pharmacies from advertising on TV wasn't cancelled. That's what started all these awful ads. Plus maybe if they can't advertise on TV, they would go back to taking ad's elsewhere and that would help newspapers and magazines

Finally, when did everyone start worrying about crotch odor, when did that become a thing, LOL?

Advertisers make it a thing. Something else to worry about.

Yes! I haven't seen the Lume one yet. I hate the one about peyronie's disease that directs you to go to bentcarrot dot com.

I see Lume commercials in my Facebook fit, but they always show armpits, not anywhere else. The carrot ones make me laugh, altho I shouldn't, it's probably really painful for men that have that issue. I'm not bothered by anything body wise. Not one bit. It's real, it's natural, and Americans tend to be on the prudish side. We need to get over that.

Oh, I am not bothered by all the body parts, but the commercials are annoying. Plus I would never take half the stuff because the noted side effects sound worse than the disease!

Most commercials are annoying, but it's how our favorite shows get paid for!

Not a fan of the erotic moaning in certain condom commercials. Guess I'm a bit of a prude but it must be awkward for families with very young kids when those commercials appear. But the commercials that are particularly gross and offensive to me are the ones with the gnarly, infected toenails. Makes me wanna heave. I change the channel whenever it appears.

I pretty much never see commercials, and I watch most of my television online on a PC with multiple tabs open, so when commercials come on, I am either up doing something else around the house or reading on other tabs. I thought I caught something about a product for something or other so you wouldn't stink if you didn't take several showers per day or something, but I kind of blacked it out, so I wouldn't have to wonder if I saw what I thought I did.

I fast forward as much as possible, am irritated by the crotch razor ones, never heard of the one several mentioned and will not type the word because it might bring those ads here. For months now, I have mostly been extremely irritated by the ads for California Proposition 27 which claims that it will help all non gaming casinos (gaming casinos are on reseration lands and benefit those tribes and from what I've learned that often is a huge benefit to all the people in those areas) .. so what this is is online gaming which they claim is innocuous as though no one underage or with a gambling addiction would be affected) and they say a portion of the proceeds will go to house the homeless. But analysis shows that the amounts are miniscule and they set aside large amounts for advertizing and most profits go to companies out of state. We already got fooled with the lotto which was supposed to fund schools. And these ads have been constant on tv, online espeically Instagram and NextDoor but I'm sure they are on Twitter and Facebook as well. As for erotic moaning condom ads, hmm those must be in Canada, eh? I am usually multitasking and all too often realize I have missed something I actually wanted to see, so have to run back the recording because I have the computer, two tablets, and my phone, and the TV.

New question: Do you like your given name and were you named after or in honor of someone? I do not like my given 1st name but quite like my middle name. I was named for my maternal grandmother and was called by my first and middle names as a child. I went back to using both names several years ago but in retrospect should have just started using my pretty middle name.

I was named after no one because my mom wanted us to have unique names (not unique in the way names are currently but unique for that time). So I was the only Lynn Ellen.. um, except that two of her friends liked the name and one named her daughter Ellen and the other named hers Lynnelle. My mother took offense, though I think she was secretly kind of sstoked. My dad joked that I escaped being named after my grandmothers, Etta and Fuchsia. I'm ok with it, but when I got married and last name became Duncan, then people REALLY often hear "Linda" when I say first and last name.

My first name is Randolph after the actor Randolph Scott who was a fairly well know actor at the time. He is best known for his leading roles in Western movies and apparently a favorite of my parents. I don’t mind my first name now but as a child I got made fun of as “Randolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”. My middle name is Mac after a fellow who my father gave credit to for saving his life during POW camp in WWII. I don’t know Mac’s full name other than his last name was MacMillan. My parents tried to find him after the war but had no luck ever finding him. The “Mack” I use here is my middle name and first letter of my last. When I signed up for TVClubhouse “Randy” was taken.

One of my brother's hates his middle name as it is our mother's maiden name. I think it sounds distinguished and thought he might like it when he became an adult. Nope, he still hates it.

There are a lot of women my age with my first name because our mothers saw Wizard of Oz and named us after the lead actress.

My sister in law shares that name. Not sure if that was the inspiration for it. Her Nisei parents were of a generation who had been interned in camps and were urged to "assimilate" so my SIL and siblings had no Japanese first or middle names. I have a friend who is 87 who was named Lorna after Lorna Doone (the character, not the shortbread cookie) and her middle name is Joy, which is pretty nice.

I use my middle name (my parents made the decision, and it was definitely the right one) and like it just fine. My first name...meh. I'm named after both my aunts; one lived close by and my first name is her first name. My other aunt was also close but my middle name is HER middle name and she used her first name, so it just made sense. Both of my grandmas used their middle names (and really ...using Mildred and Maxine instead of Clara and Betty??? WHY?) as does my uncle. Kind of a fun family tradition until it comes time for legal paperwork! LOL

I was named after my GodMother (who was my Mom's best friend and I haven't seen in over 50years). My first name is half of her name and I hated it. Have always gone my by middle name. I now love my first name because it is so unique, but by the time I liked it I had already established myself in my career by my first initial and middle name so couldn't really change my name to include my first name.
