Con Fire, with Contra Costa Water District & outside vendors, is implementing a plan to extinguish the Marsh peat fire burning along the Bay Point & Pittsburg waterfronts for 6+ weeks. We began this afternoon to flood the entire fire area to end the ongoing smoke hazard. #marshic

Heavy rain, thunder, and lightning here. We need it desperately so not complaining. Not that we had anything planned but hit when we would have been grilling and around the pool. Retreating to the theater and a movie. 🙂

Wow, looks like parts of Europe are going thru a heat dome like Oregon, Washington and BC had last year. BC lost 700 people from the heat and a whole town leveled from fire. I feel for them as that was the worst summer Ive ever experienced. This is very depressing...

Cooling down a bit, we have clear blue skies and a bit of breeze - it was stronger earlier, and temps going up to 88.
Should be a great day but there were some really odd BART delays ... they even told people to take other transport ... don't think I have ever heard them say that.
