OMG, I had sat with a gal the other day at dinner named Rosalie and since then I have been trying to figure out if she is the Rosalie from my employment back in the 90's. She just came by and it is her!!!
She is 82, I don't remember her being that much older than me and I couldn't figure out how she got here since I knew her down in San Jose.
So we chatted a bit and off she went but it is amazing to me that there is someone from my past here!

Another milk carton done and now I need a small box to put a bunch of clippies and stuff that 'someone' put in the crock pot, LOL.
I also ordered some baskets to store stuff in so those will be here next week.
Starting a list for my sister. I think the drawer under the stove isn't in correctly and I can't get down there on the floor, LOL.

Did my HOA Board Meeting and resigned as President but said I would provide background and info until they get the election done. Funny that no one wants to step up and be President, LOL.
My friend came over and brought me some more of my stuff that she had at her house! I wish she could have held off but she had the stuff loaded in her car so I said bring it on by.
Now I have my exercise bike and a bunch of cushions I don't know what to do with, LOL.
Oh but for some reason my computer wouldn't let me have a microphone for the zoom meeting. It is now saying I don't have a microphone but I had one last month when we did the meeting and the only thing that changed is I moved here. So not sure what that is about.

Dipo, we have lived in an over-55 (meaning over 80; the people who look to be my age are the children of the residents, LOL) community for going on 6 years. We have old-people happy hours, and I am apparently one of the organizers, since we hold them outside in the vacant green space next to my house, which is actually community property, but people consider it MY side yard.
It is bring your own chair and drinks, no shared food at present, and we are all SO happy to see each other after these Covid years. The main entertainment is if people don't bring the right kind of chairs, and they bring card table chairs, whose legs sink into the marshy grass. So they topple over, and we all panic about whether or not they are too fragile to survive the short fall onto the soft grass. It's a hoot. Our last one was two weeks ago (we haven't gotten much spring weather up here yet) and 31 people attended, which was a HUGE gathering. We all had to move our circle of chairs out about ten times, upping the stakes for the topplers every time they had to move.
We somehow manage to have a rousingly good time.

Took my first Van Ride and got some more scoop. These people crack me up, LOL. Went to Comcast and surprisingly was in and out in record time.
Now I going to make some coffee and get busy with my normal routine.
Oh all the milkcartons are emptied!! Starting on the rest of the kitchen boxes.

Kookliebird, the VP made it clear at the end of the meeting that he would not be President, hahahahaha. He is the one who needs to get off the board since he provides no value just causes problems about nothing. Last night he was up in arms because one of our bank statements doesn't have a letterhead on the statement. Even though it is clear it is from the bank. He thinks that means it isn't real, doesn't seem to get that this bank is small and not very "tech savy" yet. He doesn't believe us when we tell him that is what you get online. So annoying.

I hope to make a real dent in the boxes/bins that are left today. I got my puc lights, and they do work very well, so I can finish up in the kitchen lower cabinets. Or at least put stuff in there till I determine where I really want things to go.
Off to get some yogurt and muffins.

I keep upsetting the flow, I asked for 3 of everything but it threw her for a loop, so I settled for what she would give me.... 2 yogurts and 2 bananas and one muffin, LOL.
I think they use the breakfast pickup to make sure we made it thru the night and I don't want to have to go down there every morning, so I made a Safeway order. I think I will like it a lot more when winter comes because they do have hot oatmeal.
I have been trying to get things done around the house, I have emptied a couple of things I can put in balcony storage.
This morning I "built" one of my pull out drawers, I assembled it wrong twice, hahahaha, I was laughing at myself and I have a suggestion for their directions. But got it done, put up 2 of the puc lights in the kitchen and cleared off the stovetop. I might not like where the stuff is but it is put away for now.
I have also been working on getting the office area a little more functional and next I will deal with the bookcases. I think that will help alot.
For now it is time to run down for some food. I keep forgetting to have lunch so I am hungry by 4pm but it makes me feel like an old lady, hahahaha.
BUT I do get to read my book, I have a table for 2 by the window that seems to always be available so I sit there. It seems like most of the people sit at the same tables. I would be happy to have someone join me but am fine just reading my book.

Just figured out why I couldn't find any of the small boxes I packed with canned goods ... the kitties favorite cat food. My sister put all the small boxes into a giant box.
I had packed small boxes because I figured they would be easy for the movers to stick in weird places and I would recognize them as food boxes!
I was thinking that some of the boxes had been lost so that mystery is solved. I now have 3 boxes of canned goods to put away.

I have been in three different communities on respite visits after rehab. I always got up to a table that already has at least one person sitting there and ask if I can join them. I would never sit down at a table where there was someone reading as I would assume they preferred to read -

LOL, TNT, I don't get my book out right away and I always look to see if someone wants to sit me with, plus I do know the people in the table next to me, they are pretty regular at that table.
Today is Sunday Brunch!! I now know that people get a little dressed up so I will be sure to put on lipstick, LOL.
Going out to dinner tonight with friends and will just be working on unpacking some of the boxes I found last night.
Off to grab my coffee and clear my email, etc.

Got another kitchen box unpacked and it was glassware so I knew where it was supposed to go, LOL. I think I have found one more that has wine glasses so will get that one done next.
And my goal for today is to get the bookcases set up so that I can stick office boxes there and maybe get the floor cleared! We shall see.
Had a great dinner last night and I am also expecting a Safeway delivery.
Off to start some coffee and get started.

Ok, my friend accessed my computer to figure out why my microphone had dissapeared. Don't know if I mentioned when I did the zoom meeting for the HOA I had no microphone, it was very annoying since I have always had one. Not sure what happened but it is fixed now.
While the kitties were napping I was able to do a little bit of rearranging on the balcony and moved all the rugs out there. Is there somewhere to get rid of rugs? I don't think I will need all the ones I have anymore.
This really opened up the living room so I think I will work on the bookcase once I get thru email and the other normal morning stuff I am behind on.

Probaly both Goodwill and the Salvation Army take rugs for their stores!
Many churches are now helping resettle refugees from the Ukraine and need any type of household goods!

Took out the trash and a small bag of recycling. The bin was empty so I quickly took my giant bag of recycling out. Been wanting to dump it for days, LOL.
So now I am retiring the giant bag and using a smaller one that can be dumped more frequently.

Got thru the HOA Collection Agency contract and sent out my questions to the manager and the Board.
Now I have a pile of mail I am working my way thru, picked it up at my old house. I don't know why it isn't getting forwarded since I put in the request on 5/20!
Hope it catches up soon.

Cancelled my first "housekeeping" because I am not ready! And I am off to get my second booster today at Safeway, LOL, on the shopping shuttle.
Have lots to do today, but need to head down to the bus!

Got my shot!! Went very smoothly and quickly. Didn't even notice the jab. Drinking lots of water and moving my arm around.

Both bookcases have been cleaned and setup, also swept the floor under the sofa. The floor is looking better, LOL.
Now I have a meeting with my financial planner. Time to see what he wants to invest me in.
Hoping to get some of the office stuff dealt with.

I still haven't figured out where my phone ended up. I checked my moving log and it's not listed in any of the boxes.
I just saw that Nala has decided it is cool to sit in the bookcases, since I got the shelves up.
