Saturday's Mission
http://www.flylady.net/c/fp.php?tzm=420

Never packed any boxes but I thought a lot about it, LOL. Guess I will pull a couple of bins into the bedroom and see if I can get something done there.

For now clearing email and twitter. Getting caught up on the news.

Email is done, HOA email cleared and I tracked down the informtion needed to try and clear up the "double payment" that they are showing for me. So hopefully that will be resolved.

Also contacted BofA to track down the HUD1 on my refinance. I am thinking that might come in handy for my taxes, I do need to look into capital gains, maybe I will go and google that now.

Need to play my free hour on my computer game and then maybe I will pack up a bin or two.

Yes, a home sale makes for more complicated tax return for the sale year. As I assume you are NOT doing a buy-in at the new place, you will probably be paying some CG taxes for 2022. That is federal; I have no clue about CA tax laws.

Sunday - A glorious day!

Correct Tntitanfan, no buy in, just renting. I keep meaning to ask if I can get a discount for paying a year up front or anything like that. Oh, I will add it to my list.

Making some hummingbird food and I decided that I will leave the hummingbird feeder here for the new owners. I hope they keep it up but the hummers have plenty of places around here to visit.

My bedroom tablet has been failing for a long time, won't hold a charge even when plugged in so I have been thinking about buying a new one. Finally my brain kicked in this morning and it occurred to me to just move all the games to my newest tablet, the one in the office, and go from there. DUH !!!

So now I am loading up the games and then I will do a clear of the old tablet and move it to the e-waste box.

So enjoying my coffee and a Charlies Angels movie, the new one from 2019, didn't realize I hadn't seen it the other day. Plus I watched a Pioneer Woman and saw pictures of her daughter's wedding, my god did she have 10 or more bridesmaids, LOL? I could never actually get a count.

Ok, got the hummingbird feeder cleaned and refilled. Then I took one of my gallon bottles of earthquake water and watered the plants. Also dumped the birdbath and refilled it.

LOL, hummers are now fighting over the feeder, instead of looking around the patio for food.

A little cool this morning, did the dishes and refilled water bottles. .Cleared email.

Yesterday I ended up going out to a fabulous pasta dinner so I got some trash out of the house.

Today will be packing and organizing some areas, I need to start a new goodwill box and I did get my old tablet cleared so it can go into the ewaste box.

Ok, I got all the bins in off the balcony and matched up the lids to the bins so now I can start packing a little easier.

Got all the water bottles refilled and finished dealing with twitter.

Mind be time for a break / nap.

Got my bedroom bin started, trying to put heavy things in the bottom and then find more light things to pack on top.

This leads to a question ... what do you do with old sports shirts from the past? I have used them as filler, but they are way to small for me, I got them when I was in my 20's. They are those "my team won, we're the best" type shirts. Just wondering what I should do with them when I unpack, LOL.

Got the coffee brewing and starting on email/twitter.

Email and twitter done. Still packing in the bedroom and kitchen, and now just cracking up because I stacked 2 empty bins in front of the slider and Sylvester is laying there perusing the neighborhood.

I must remember in the new house to make him different perching places. He likes to go under the bed but he also likes to lay on things that are above the floor.

My plan is to see how many different bins I can get packed today.

But first the paper, yogurt and a couple of games.

Salvation Army and thrift shops always need t-shirts. They are the third most requested - after socks and underwear - in homeless shelters. Being on the smallish side myself, I usually recycle my excess tee's to a teen shelter here.

Good for you planning reuse for your packing materials!!!

How large is the retirement commuinity you are moving to? Doesn't matter; just nosy!

Kids, I shit you not, I was driving home tonight past our local Assisted Living Facility and there was a small, yet agitated group of seniors on the lawn in front of a four lane road waving signs in support of #RoeVsWade.

TNT that is a good recommendation. My new home is close to a crisis center where a lot of teens go, I think. I will check with them to see if they want the t-shirts.

I think they said there are 140 units in the project, and I know I did see some couples when I have been over there. So it is a reasonable size.

Off to pack up the bedroom.

That is hysterical and doesn't surprise me at all! Todays seniors were most like the very same people fighting for abortion and women's rights to begin with and/or the first to have those rights.

Does the retirement community offer a bunch of activities and outings?

Not a lot going on around here. Mom is still staying at sis' during the week (I think this might be the last week, but not sure, cuz sis just got the all clear from her doctor to resume driving though she still has quite a few restrictions) and home on the weekends.

Winds been blowing like crazy again and my floors really need cleaned and furniture dusted but it's kind of pointless. As soon as a door gets opened, it's a mess again. Also haven't been able to ride our bikes (we've averaged like one day a week this past month.)

We went to the California Science Center this weekend to check out the Angkor Wot exhibit (also saw the shuttle Endeavour, which I had forgotten was there, so that was awesome!) It was the first time since the mask mandate had been lifted that we've really been anywhere other than shopping and I was pleasantly surprised by how many people were wearing masks (it is recommended there, not required) and keeping their distance from each other. Was a pretty nice experience.

Anyway, just thought of another thing I need to track down. I have to change my voter registration. I have been on absentee ballot forever but I don't think I can vote my ballot if I have a different address. So I have added this research to my list.

I got a notification that my homeowners insurance was coming up for renewal so I have them changing that over to a renters policy on May 22nd.

Also need to check on the PG&E stuff as well.

Hahahahaha, Wargod, I am surprised I haven't seen a notice calling for the seniors to hop on a bus and go protest somewhere around here.

Wow, the Science Center sounds interesting and fun. Glad to see you are still in the "masking world". I have been surprised to see I am one of the few who have continued to mask. But then I keep seeing the numbers rising all over the school system here and we all know kids bring germs home to thier families.

Just ask Jimmy Kimmel, LOL. I cracked up at his message that his daughter brought it home to him "even tho they asked her not to". Hahahahahaha.

I get it about the dusting, I have given up on that for a bit.

I swear, everytime I start packing I end up having to fix something. Was going to pack a clock in my bedroom and it has needed a new battery so I figure I will do that before I pack it.

Then I can't get the battery out without some sort of tool. Anyway, finally got it out and reset it and now back to packing.

Ok, box is done in the bedroom, getting another bin.

Apparently is it not possible to change your voting address online, you have to call and tell someone. Just took care of that so I can vote in the June election. Hope it really gets changed, which reminds me that I need to see how you change your mailing address now. Do they still use a card, or can you do that online?

Dipo, I haven't chenged addresses in years but maybe just stop in at the post office. Used to be you just put in a change of address with them. And of course everywhere you have an address online you probably change online, like your billing address with credit cards and such. DMV used to just have you cross out the old and put the new on the back. Probably that has changed.

It makes my head hurt just thinking about it..

Post office you can change online. It is super simple and quick, but you do have to pay like a buck and some change. DMV we went in (since moving to Cal City, we've discovered the Ridgecrest DMV is the most amazing dmv, lol, seriously worth the hour drive...think our longest time in there has been about 20 minutes.) Anyway, we did DMV in person, they give you a little card to fill out and carry in your wallet behind your drivers license. When you get a new license (Darren's expired a year or so ago, so new one) it will update with your new address. I want to say we did the voter registration address change online, though I might be wrong and we did it by mail? I know for a fact I never had to call anyone. Or, maybe it was when we did the address change for DMV?

I can say changing our address for the freaking Cable company was worse than the others altogether.

LMAO, I didn't even think about the DMV, hahahahaha. There are just tooooo many things.

The nice thing about my new place is the cable is included, but I think it is just basic so I will need to upgrade. I must remember to ask them about that before I call Comcast.
