RN Thank you for your thoughts, everyone. It really helps. This morning DH took Birdie to be cremated. I just couldn't bring myself to go. I'm going to miss her so much. I can't tell if my other dog Candy really is sad, or if she's just sensing my sadness.

Oh no!!! I burst into tears reading this and had to explain to Bigdog about Birdie's suitcase. She was a doggone good dawg, and she deserved having you as her best person ever. Job well done being Birdie's human and giving as much joy to her as she gave back. RIP, Birdie, good dog.

As hard as it is to lose a fur baby, you should find comfort in the knowledge that you gave her a wonderful and happy life. Our pets give us tenfold what we give them - just as she was joy in your life, so were you all in all to her!

RN My brother sent me this photo. I thought this was a photo from a catalog or something because it's so beautiful. But that's really his cat "Chicken" staring up at the tree! This should be in a photo contest or something.

Definitely a Christmas card worthy photo of Chicken and that unbelievable tree. Looks like decorating runs in the family.
Of course WE all know Chicken is surveying and making calculations on how long to the exact second it will take her to vanquish that alien that appeared in her house.
