On the news last night, oh actually it was TMZ, they reported that the dog walked walked to a liquor store a bit out of the residential area, bought one bottle of wine, then back into the neighborhood.
If was opined that the dognappers saw the Frenchies, knew they could get But bucks for them, had no idea they belonged to a celebrity, and followed them back into the neighborhood, where they made the grab.
The woman who found them will get the full reward.

I dont understand dog napping. For sure expensive dogs would be chipped, and if someone was paying top dollar for a dog I would think they would be taking them to vet check ups and vets scan them

Actually that probably means some stolen dogs will suffer the pain of chip removal. 😢
And some dogs are taken to use as bait dogs, or to be bred, no gets involved. Dog fighters and puppy mills.
Totally sick.
But these guys were not the brightest and if they are caught, they face attempted murder charges.

The family of celebrity zookeeper and TV show host Jack Hanna said he's been diagnosed with dementia and will retire from public life. The 74-year-old Hanna was director of the Columbus Zoo from 1978 to 1992 and still serves as its director emeritus.
