Take a loaf of something like Italian bread from the bakery department at the grocery store. Cut off a nice bit, butter it, shake a goodly amount of parmesan cheese on the buttered bread and pop it under the broiler until it is nicely toasted.
Remove from oven and pour honey over it. Devour.

Honey bread is delicious. I don't have it often but may need to make some this week.

Of course, it takes months to go through a little honey bear 5 pounds probably has you set for life.

Use it to make granola or honey wheat bread.

OOoo...and a wonderful cough soother is to layer slices of lemon and ginger in a pint jar. Then cover it completely with honey. Pop it in the fridge, and whenver you have a scratchy throat, put a couple tablespoons of the jelled mixture in hot water (and add a wee dram of whisky!).

Yeah, it's like a gallon-sized jug. I'll never use it up.

I love honey and use it all the time, the only reason I buy sugar is for my hummingbirds. I think you scored...

Yes, it’s pretty much what the title is. Fry some bacon, take it out to drain and chop. Drain the pan except for maybe a tablespoon. Add in a tablespoon of butter and a whole bunch of chopped cabbage , add whatever seasonings you like. I like black pepper, salt and red pepper flakes and sauté on low till nice and tender Add back in the bacon and stir a cook for a few minutes more
Or you can cook it on med high quickly and get a nice little crisp charr. Either way....yum!

Same basic flavors as brussel sprouts and bacon, TBH.

Has anyone tried using a ricer to mash your potatoes?

I see them using a ricer on the cooking channels and want to know if I should buy one. What do you say?

A friend of mine has one. They are easier to use, but I saw no difference in the quality of the mashed potatoes.

The trick is still to make sure they are soft enough after cooking so they don't end up lumpy. You can still get small lumps with the ricer.

I have one and it works well using soft potatoes like Karuuna said. I also like it for boiled eggs if you want to make a very quick egg salad

I have one but don’t like it much, takes longer, makes a mess but doesn’t make enough difference to go through it.

I never even skin my potatoes, so lumps are always ok with me.. too much work and then you loose all the good stuff, well, thats what I think anyway..

I am thinking about taking my leftover crock-pot Salisbury steak (hamburger patties in beef broth with mushrooms and onions) into goulash soup.

All I have to do is add some potatoes, maybe some carrots and a few spices.

OK, my "kitchen sink" soup turned out great, I chopped up the hamburger patty, and then I had some left over sausage/peppers/onions so I threw that in, added some chopped carrots and potatoes and it is fabulous. Yeah!!
