How does airplane mode get turned on from the keyboard? I got it turned off, but have no idea what keys made it get turned on.

On my laptop, it's the F2 key. (It could be a different F-key on other laptops)

Dipo, my F2 key actually has that little universal symbol that represents wifi/interent. The little tower with signals radiating from the sides. Do your F-keys have any pictures or symbols?

Do a System Restore from a date before the update and hope for better luck next time? I did that after a big update a month or three ago, when things went all wacky, and it straightened out when the system re-updated itself.

Is something wrong with Google Chrome? I have been trying to do a delivery order all day and keep getting error messages, which don't make sense. Anyway I finally decided to go on IE and try that and it worked fine. So I thought maybe there is something wrong with Chrome. TIA

I was having problems with both Chrome and Opera this week. I was trying to finish a Common App recommendation for a student, and neither would show me the PDF preview of my recommendation letter. My adblock was off, pop-ups were "allowed" - and nothing. I finally got it to work using Firefox.

So, I'm coming late to this discussion. I had a similar issue once with an earlier version of Windows. The problem I had was related to the updates being installed out of order. There were some 'optional" updates that I did not install, choosing to install only the required updates. I had to fix similar to how Juju said. Because of that, I just let the updates come as they may.

Windows 10 doesn't let you pick and choose, or even turn off windows updates anymore.

Quick Q: I have Malwarebyte in addition to McAfee, and Malware throws up notifications of a malicious website. It shows the domain name and a few other things including the file. So is there some way I can tell what I have opened that caused the pop up notification? I sometimes can see a direct correlation between opening up a website and a notification, but sometimes I just have email, tvch, and twitter open and all of a sudden I get a notification. So I was wondering if there is a way to tell what caused it, so any thoughts.

Yay KL !!! Good to know, Naja. Thanks. I have had Windows 10 updates mess me up a couple times in the past six months, which is how I know to try System Restore if a simple re-boot doesn't fix it.

Dipo, if you are on a PC, I think you can go to Device Manager (in Windows 7 and 10, click the start button and type in Device Manager) and see if there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it, under the mouse in the list of devices. And then there should be stuff in there you can experiment with to tell you if it is working properly or not.

Thanks Juju, I just checked and it says it is working properly, but it is working right now. I will see what it shows next time it stops working.

Well I finally got a message after the toole-ooh. It says the device malfunctioned and Microsoft doesn't recognize it, and when I checked the devices it was no longer shown. I think I will go out and look for drivers and see if I can update them, meanwhile the new mouse is slowly crawling to my house from best buy.

That does sound like the mouse has died if the device manager is no longer even finding it. <puts out pieces of cheese leading to Dipo's house>

New Q: Has anyone heard of Driver Support with Active Optimization? When I went looking for updated drivers I found it and now, naturally, they are stalking me, LOL. Wondered if anyone had worked with them and if they are legit. Thanks.
