New Question: So, as a few singers have asked over the years, What are you doing New Year's Eve?

We used to go out for New Year's Eve, but we found it kind of busy and expensive so now we make a really nice dinner and celebrate at home (usually steak and lobster). We do stay up until midnight and have Champaign.

Last few years we've gone out with friends or invited them over here for libations and munchies. Things are too sketchy healthwise right now to make any plans at this point.

Staying home, LOL. Probably cook some stuff for New Years Day, which reminds me, I need to figure that out and make sure I have everything.

We went to a house party at my brother's for several years. This year my DH had knee surgery and still isn't feeling very well, so we're staying in. Watch some TV, eat some munchies. (I make some amazing foods of all kinds)

We have a NYE tradition...we stay home. I host a kids party and anyone who wants to go out can drop their kids off either for a few hours or the night. Usually cook something like a big pot of chili, have munchies like cookies, fruit tray and veggie tray and sparkling cider and cocoa. Kids play games and watch NYE specials and celebrate with poppers at midnight (or as close to it as possible before they go to sleep, lol.) Used to have a house full of kids and it wasn't that unusual to have 10-12 camped out on the living room floor New Years Day. I think as we all get older though, fewer people are going out for the big partying. Last few years it's just been my nieces. Oh, and Darren and I stay sober and offer to go pick anyone up who has had too much to drink. Again, getting older, haven't had to do that too much the last few years. This year may be a bit different. Sis has to have a procedure Friday and the girls will be here over the weekend. Not sure if they will be here Sunday though. Sis won't be up for hosting her usual NYE game night and with the girls here Fri/Sat, they may want to be home Sunday.

The past couple of years we've had Hogmanay dinner with our Scottish friends, but we've always come home before midnight and just had champagne and grapes while watching the ball drop on TV.

War, that sounds so fun! We havent been out for NY eve in 17 yrs because the dogs are terrified of fireworks and ppl shoot off illegal ones all night long. Sadly, over the last couple years our dogs have gone to Rainbow Bridge, just have 1 lil chiweenie dog left. Since he can go to a friend's house we decided to go out. We are going to see Mini Adair and Morris Day and The Time at a beautiful hotel in Huntington Beach. Should be fun

Reading a book, of course. (There is no greater leisure activity available on this or any other planet.)

After 17 years, have fun, Pamy and Bill! It isn't TOO noisy here but I'll be home with the cat. Many years I drive a patient during the day but with NYE falling on Saturday night, there won't be any to drive. I love your family traditions, War! Hmm.. Y2.. I'm on the way for the yummy food (just kidding, but it sounds good!)

We're flying over to Atlanta to spend New Years with friends. They just bought a new home on a lake near Atlanta and this will be our first visit. Typically we just stay home and haven't gone out in eight or so years.

Happily, we stay home on Nye last several years. Maybe a brunch. No way out to dinner (I worry about the drunk drivers). (Jimmer, this post maybe should go under dumb question;lwhat are "singers")

There's a song called "What are you doing New Year's Eve?" It's been covered by a number of different singers over the years.

Dipo have you ever made a breakfast pizza? You buy the shredded hash browns, mix in one egg, spread that on a Pizza pan, bake that for about 20 minutes and while that is in the oven scramble some eggs, take the hash browns out of the oven, put the scrambled eggs on top of that and add whatever you want (bacon, sausage, ham or vegetables, the sausage, bacon must be cooked of course) add shredded cheese, put back in the oven until the cheese is melted. very yummy
