New Q: Does anyone here use Lyft? I signed up but I can't figure out how to add my credit card, or do they just take it when I ride?

I guess their site doesn't have a way to add your credit card which is what I was trying to do, you have to add it on the app, annoying.
I got it done.

Update on my last question about the self defense class. The girls had it tonight and they thoroughly enjoyed it. They learned to scream. They learned to hit/kick soft, squishy spots. They learned to yell, "LEAVE ME ALONE" and "NO!" with each kick or hit. They learned how to get out of a headlock. For some reason, they learned the proper way to stab someone with an ice pick. I was pretty confused on the last...how often do you carry an ice pick around with you? But, apparently that was just the tool on hand and they learned the proper way to hold and stab with any pointy weapon (knife, screwdriver, pen, pencil.)
They also got to discuss/hold/check out taser guns. And Kota has informed me she wants one. I'm having visions of her zapping anyone who ticks her off. Darren said he could just see her wearing a taser on a chain on her neck, I had to agree.
They also told me they got to choke each other (practicing how to break out of that.) Since the two girls are so close in age and spend so much time together and always have and are close friends as well as cousins, they occassionally fight like sisters do. So, I asked if choking each other was satisfying? They both answered no...and elaborated that ya know, cuz they didn't get to finish choking each other, lol!
And both want to continue with some kind of self defense training. They're actually looking at a boxing class the city does (once a week, for three months) and thinking they might like to take that next. The city changes the classes they have each season, the self defense classes coming up are for younger girls. We're thinking they can do the boxing, then the next season that the longer self defense classes come up they can do that.

Wargod...eek. From the scary movies I've seen an ice pick is used to stab someone in the eyes. Agree...who carries an ice pick?
Much better idea...taser on a chain. She could design a necklace with tasers maybe add an ice pick as a clasp of some sort. Lol J/k

Re Lyft and credit card. I just registered with Uber. Same there. I wanted to add my credit card on the web site. No. Do it in the app. A little anxious about using Uber, but have gotten many positive comments about it.

My boss takes Uber every time he travels. Both here in the Dallas area and to wherever his business meetings are. He really seems to like it. I have considered driving for them to make some extra money but it does make me a little nervous about safety.

I don't like to drive, so don't venture too far from home via car. May get around more now with Uber.

Sounds like the class was a big success!!
Roxip, if you decide to drive for them.. be sure to check with your insurance coverage.. at least mine has some real differences should I drive for one of the services.
I had to call to make sure that they were referring to those and not to driving people, as I do, as a volunteer driver!
I would say more days than not, when I drive, driving someone somewhere will be part of that day. Luckily I do like to drive and have been a passenger.. since 2009, I was driven home from the hospital after surgery and to my follow up exam, and home from a colonoscopy. And I got a ride with people in a group about 3 times since. But other than that, I'm the driver and I like it that way.
I'm hesitant about driving unvetted people, I must admit. At least American Cancer Society and the Jewish Federation & Family Services provides me with the riders and ACS does get verification of cancer treatment.
But people are finding Uber to be really useful, for sure.
One patient took it and wasn't pleased that the "no smoking" car had clearly been smoked in. The driver said she wasn't smoking at the moment.. but that wasn't the point.

In some places females ask for a female Uber driver. Might check into that if you have concerns and they offer it in your city.

I did see a couple of companies are trying to start a "females" only driver company.
I just wish Uber and Lyft would both do complete background checks with fingerprints, I would feel safer about them.

New Q: Would a bank have $1 million just sitting in their vault? If I wanted to get a million in cash wouldn't I need to pre-arrange that because banks don't keep that much cash on hand?
Just curious, and thought there might be some bank people in our group.

Anything over $10,000 must be ordered. Vault limits do vary by branches, so a branch in Beverly Hills might have a bit higher limit than say... one in the middle of Montana.
Casinos which run their own banking must keep a very large amount of cash on hand at any one time. That is why they have very large vaults. (such as seen in Ocean's Eleven
