A great article about her many accomplishments, https://people.com/dolly-parton-dead-7565853? In a November 2025 cover story, Parton opened up to PEOPLE about her then-upcoming 80th birthday. “People say, ‘Well, you’re going to be 80 years old.’ Well, so what? Look at all I’ve done in 80 years. I feel like I’m just getting started,” she says. “I know that sounds stupid, but unless my health gives way, which right now I seem to be doing fine . . . I think there’s a lot to be said about age. If you allow yourself to get old, you will. I say, ‘I ain’t got time to get old!’ I ain’t got time to dwell on that. That’s not what I’m thinking about.” She also reflected on her impact and intentions in the industry. “I’m at that point in my life where I just want to be able to do good things that can be carried on. I’m proud of my legacy so far, and I hope to just continue to do things that might be of use to other people,” Parton told PEOPLE at the time. “You know, I have just been going so fast my whole life,” Parton added in the same interview. “And I just start thinking, ‘How in the world did I even have a life? How did I even get it done?’ I really realized when I was putting this book together just how much I had sacrificed in my life. I never had children, so at least I didn’t have a guilty feeling. I’m thankful that I got to see my dreams come true.”

Found out about Dolly Parton's death late afternoon, been crying on and off, as are we all still sane humans. Crying now. Oh, Dolly! What a great soul! Thank you, God, or gods, or the great giftie, or whatever any of us may call the eternal grace of us all - Thank you for Dolly! She saved lives, she changed lives, she taught us who would listen, about love, how to live love. Thank you, Dolly, for being alive while I am still alive. You might have died today, but I suspect you are going to continue to influence really great things long into the future. Go with God, incredible woman.

abc7la 2m IN REMEMBRANCE: Tim Curry, a character actor who created a gallery of delicious, very loony villains for stage and screen, including Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and the smug concierge in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” has died. He was 80 Curry, who suffered a stroke in 2012 that put him in a wheelchair, died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles, according to his longtime manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz. No cause was disclosed. Known for his arch humor, a putty-like face and gift with voices, Curry earned three Tony nominations — for “Spamalot,” “My Favorite Year” and “Amadeus” — and an Emmy nod in 1994. https://abc7.com/story/tim-curry-rocky-horror-picture-show-clue-actor-dies-80/19739288/

I keep crying off and on about Dolly. What a treasure she was to the world. I'm so grateful she lived during my lifetime. Go to google and do a search for Dolly Parton. You might have to click on the butterfly or it might automatically show you the beautiful tribute. Awww....Tim Curry. I didn't realize he was 80 also.

apnews 3m Cassandra Wilson, the two-time Grammy-winning jazz singer, has died. NEW YORK (AP) — Cassandra Wilson, the two-time Grammy Award-winning jazz singer, songwriter and producer has died. She was 70. Dubbed America’s best singer by Time magazine in 2001, Wilson was best known for her genre-bending voice, which expanded the boundaries of traditional blues-based jazz and worked effortlessly across folk, pop, R&B, country and beyond. At the heart of all her work was her idiosyncratic contralto, a soulful sound distinctly tied to her roots. https://apnews.com/article/cassandra-wilson-dead-7bbf74ead70df41b8341be9e4969c3ce?

Gloria Steinem, trailblazing journalist and activist, dies at 92
quote:Starting in the 1960s, at a time when women were largely limited to domestic roles, Steinem challenged gender stereotypes and championed feminist ideals like equality, sisterhood and reproductive freedom. In doing so, she inspired generations of women to do the same. Today, she's a household name that is synonymous with the women's rights movement. "Because of her work, across America and around the world, more women are afforded the respect and opportunities that they deserve," then-President Barack Obama said when he awarded Steinem the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her commitment to activism in 2013. "She also changed how women thought about themselves."
