In a November 2025 cover story, Parton opened up to PEOPLE about her then-upcoming 80th birthday.
“People say, ‘Well, you’re going to be 80 years old.’ Well, so what? Look at all I’ve done in 80 years. I feel like I’m just getting started,” she says. “I know that sounds stupid, but unless my health gives way, which right now I seem to be doing fine . . . I think there’s a lot to be said about age. If you allow yourself to get old, you will. I say, ‘I ain’t got time to get old!’ I ain’t got time to dwell on that. That’s not what I’m thinking about.”
She also reflected on her impact and intentions in the industry. “I’m at that point in my life where I just want to be able to do good things that can be carried on. I’m proud of my legacy so far, and I hope to just continue to do things that might be of use to other people,” Parton told PEOPLE at the time.
“You know, I have just been going so fast my whole life,” Parton added in the same interview. “And I just start thinking, ‘How in the world did I even have a life? How did I even get it done?’ I really realized when I was putting this book together just how much I had sacrificed in my life. I never had children, so at least I didn’t have a guilty feeling. I’m thankful that I got to see my dreams come true.”

The 'Star Trek' stuntman died at the age of 73.
The martial artist, also known for his work in Inception, Rush Hour, and Luke Cage, is reported by TMZ to have been fighting an unspecified health condition. It was his work on the latter title that earned him an Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a drama series Emmy. IMDb shows that he has seven works in pre- and post-production.

Found out about Dolly Parton's death late afternoon, been crying on and off, as are we all still sane humans. Crying now.
Oh, Dolly! What a great soul! Thank you, God, or gods, or the great giftie, or whatever any of us may call the eternal grace of us all - Thank you for Dolly! She saved lives, she changed lives, she taught us who would listen, about love, how to live love.
Thank you, Dolly, for being alive while I am still alive. You might have died today, but I suspect you are going to continue to influence really great things long into the future.

Curry, who suffered a stroke in 2012 that put him in a wheelchair, died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles, according to his longtime manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz. No cause was disclosed.
Known for his arch humor, a putty-like face and gift with voices, Curry earned three Tony nominations — for “Spamalot,” “My Favorite Year” and “Amadeus” — and an Emmy nod in 1994.

I keep crying off and on about Dolly. What a treasure she was to the world. I'm so grateful she lived during my lifetime. Go to google and do a search for Dolly Parton. You might have to click on the butterfly or it might automatically show you the beautiful tribute.

Actor Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime and Eeyore, dies aged 85
Peter Cullen, the actor behind the voice of characters including Eeyore in Disney’s Winnie the Pooh franchise and Optimus Prime in Transformers, has died aged 85.
He died on Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles, a statement said.
The Canadian actor began his biggest role – as Optimus Prime, the honourable leader of the Autobots – for the Transformers TV series in 1984. He returned for seven Hollywood Transformers films from 2007 to 2023 and other spinoffs.
Cullen voiced the melancholic donkey Eeyore in The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh TV series from the late 1980s as well as numerous related shows, films and games.
