I noticed there was no thread for peacock streaming, so I figured I would start one I'm watching A Friend Of The Family mini series. "The harrowing true story of the Broberg family, whose young daughter Jan was kidnapped multiple times in the 1970s by a charismatic, obsessed family "friend." Devoted to their faith, family and community, the Brobergs were unprepared for the sophisticated tactics their neighbor used to exploit their vulnerabilities, drive them apart and turn their daughter against them, permanently altering their lives" There was also a 2017 documentary Abducted in Plain Sight which I am going to wait to watch until I finish the series. I think this is the right order to watch it actually. Jan Broberg said she wanted clear up the misconceptions. Especially about the blame people placed on her parents. Frankly, not sure she was successful with that. I don't want to spoil for anyone wanting to watch. I'll just say...you can't make this stuff up. If this were a fictional show...we would all be screaming at the TV. That would never happen, that isn't the law, the FBI would never do that, the police would never do that, a Deacon wouldn't have said that, a wife-husband-father-mother-brother would never do that. That would NEVER happen. HOW did that happen? I'm on Episode 7 out of 9. Drops on Thursdays. The mother, MaryAnn Broberg, wrote a book in 2003. I have to read it. The whole thing is so bizarre. Anyone else watching?

I watched Abducted in Plain Sight on Netflix. What a crazy story. Unbelievable that it happened. Glad my parents weren't fools.

Those parents were "special", for sure. But also unbelievable was the guy's (B) wife. There are just too many unfathomable characters....

Oh hell, SinceBB1, I started watching it, and then got really queasy after the episode where the perp/groomer compromised the Dad, and was not sure I wanted to watch the rest of it. It hits a little too close to home with my job of being the supervisor of investigating those crimes. So, thanks for what little information you did reveal. I will not watch the rest of it and wish I knew how to remove it from My Stuff in Peacock.

Oh sorry Juju! That was definitely the only sort of explicit scene. Thankfully, they never show anything with the young girl and the neighbor. Most of the rest of it, is implied. So that was really the worst of it. I can imagine though if you have to deal with the subject at work...it might not be something you want to see in your free time. Now, to remove from your My Stuff. Open peacock app. Scroll left to go to the vertical menu (right below the little peacock head). There will be a yellow oval circle around "Home". Scroll down until you get to "+ My Stuff". Click on it. Find the series you want to remove, click on it. In the lower left hand corner you will see a small check mark next to "MY Stuff". Scroll left til it's highlighted yellow. Click on it. The checkmark becomes a + and it removes it from your list.

We use Hulu Live for most of our TV viewing, but since we record everything (except for live stuff like sports and awards shows), anything that's on NBC these days, we wait till the next day and watch it on Peacock so there are no commercials. We're so used to skipping the ads, we have no tolerance for them anymore. Even when my hubby is watching sports, if an ad comes on he'll changee the channel and find another show, then switch back when ads come on again.

Juju, that scene was tough. The whole show has been tough. The scary thing is it's true. I watched the documentary the other day and was even more upset with her parents.

I'm watching Dr Death Inspired by the terrifying true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a young and charismatic star in the Texas medical community. After building a flourishing neurosurgery practice, everything suddenly changes when patients entering Dr. Duntsch's operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries start leaving permanently disabled or dead. As his victims pile up, two fellow physicians and Dallas prosecutor Michelle Shughart set out to stop him. Riveting and cringe worthy

Somebody recommended The Resort to me a while back, and I added it to my "To Watch" list. Started watching it yesterday afternoon, and I LOVE it! I watched 7 episodes in one sitting and will finish it today. Great show!

Just watched first episode of Poker Face. I really liked it. I was a little hesitant when I saw it was created by the same people that made Knives Out. I couldn't get through it...after 15 minutes I was done. But Poker Face is good...so far.

Sincebb1, we are just starting ep 3 of Poker Face and it's awesome! The funny thing about the show, each time an episode starts, you think you clicked on the wrong show! haha For anybody interested, Poker Face is about a woman (Natasha Lyonne) that can tell if anybody is lying. She is on the run from a casino owner in Vegas that wants her dead because, well, you'll see. Each ep is a new adventure while she's on the run. There's a lot of comedy in it as well.

She really is terrific. I like her in Russian Doll as well. If you haven't seen it, season 1 is like a Groundhog Day type situation where she keeps going back in time to the same party, over and over, trying to figure out how not to die this time. Season 2 is a bit different. It's on Netflix. And of course, who didn't love her on Orange is the New Black?

There are 10 episodes for Poker Face. They dropped the first four...then we will have to wait for they rest weekly. I didn't need four episodes...I was hooked from the first one lol

Rieann, I said the same thing to hubby last night when we were watching the show. She TOTALLY reminds me of Colombo. She even talks a little the same. She just needs a cigar. Great show. We're enjoying it so far, although it's a little graphic at times.

I am loving Poker Face. It does harken back to those old detective shows like Columbo or Rockford Files.

Sam and Kate. Cute romantic, yet heartfelt movie with Dustin Hoffman, his son Jeff (who plays his son), Sissy Spacek and Schuyler Fisk (her real life daughter) who plays her daughter. I liked it.
