Some parts were really well done this episode, but overall I think maybe it was missing something. I do enjoy having so many of the cast women, it's unusual to have a group of women behaving like women would behave in the jobs they have. Not a man's idea of how a woman would react.

There was a special, second episode this week, which is a crossover with Lower Decks. It's available on Paramount+, but I don't know how it would work for those of you in Canada. It says it's an early release, so perhaps we won't have a new one this coming Thursday. Anyway, it was really good! Lots of fun, even for those (me) who can't take the mania of Lower Decks!

Unfortunately the episode is only available on Crave which is a streaming service that costs extra money so all of us cable users are now a week behind. I’m kind of surprised that they would mess up the release schedule by skipping a week now since the next episode was released today on paramount+. It doesn’t really make sense because there’s gonna be a drought of Trek content due to the strike, but it seems with comic con paramount is doing everything they can to distract from this. Looking forward to watching the lower decks episode tonight, I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time since I’m a big lower decker!

Ita Kitt. I haven't got the patience for LOWER DECKS. But this was a fun ep! Vancovergirl, Apparently there's going to be a musical ep upcoming. Should be fun.

In case this info is useful to anyone: * Effective today, the Canadian version of Paramount+ — which already streams Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard — has added all available episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, our sister site Variety reports. The service is also adding all past seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation (on Aug. 8 ), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Aug. 15), Star Trek: Voyager (Aug. 22), Star Trek: Enterprise (Aug. 29), and Star Trek: The Animated Series and Star Trek (the original series, Sept. 5). https://tvline.com/news/super-bowl-2024-nickelodeon-kids-alternate-broadcast-1235021869/

What?!! Nobody is watching season 3?!! They've aired two episodes! Loved the 2nd one, so many easter eggs for previous Star Trek series like TNG! Episode 2 was a fun one!

The season closer! Now that is the way to end a character.

Seasons ends so soon these days... I love everything else about it...well, maybe excluding Captain Pike's hairdo. It was a fun future fashion for a middle aged man in space, but it was also distracting every time I saw him. I really liked the wedding episode...the first introduction to a Q Continuum inhabitant....and his daddy with the distinctive voice.

"This last episode was very Doctor Who." Due to "Rose Tyler's presence? It would be a hoot if there's a crossover between ST and WHO! After all, it looks like DW is going to have another first....a new Doctor who's also a previous companion, Rose Tyler!

This last episode was very Doctor Who. That’s a good thing, right?

Gee, I am losing my mind! Kitt mentions a DW reference and I think "Doctor Who?" I thought for a minute and suddenly remembered Billie Piper showing up. Of course, I did not see "Rose" (played by Piper on DW) show up on Star Trek. I watched the ST-SNW season finale yesterday and later I watched some "Wednesdays" (the show that Piper is actually in this season). My brain just decided to move her to ST for some reason. I didn't even realize my error until I started watching another Wednesday episode a few minutes ago and "Rose" showed up. Getting old is a b-something...and kind of scary! Getting back to reality: So Kitt, what made you think of DW during the ST-SNW season finale?

That's the sort of thing I'd do, Sanfran, and I'm a chunk younger! Yes, Jimmer, being very Doctor Who is a good thing, or at least not necessarily a bad . Sanfran, Batel being the statue on the planet while also being the human, and the portal with M'Benga seeing his past life. Oh, and the timey wimey future Batel and Pike! It all seemed to go just past Star Trek and into Dr Who territory for me. Again, not that that's a bad thing, it's just taken a turn.

"Oh, and the timey wimey future Batel and Pike!" That part reminded me of a favorite ST-TNG episode: The Inner Light https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708803/?ref_=ttep_ep_25

Sanfran, I also harkened back to that same ep with Picard, when I saw this last ep. Not a Dr. Who watcher, so can't comment on the rest of the discussion.

That’s a beautiful episode. The SNW episode also reminded me of the Nexus, in ST Generations.
