ALASKA DAILY -- New show started tonight, Hillary Swank stars and one of the guys from West Wing is the editor of the paper.
It was really intriguing and interesting. I was totally engrossed in the show and story. I think it is going to be really good.

Was just coming here to say same thing about Alaska Daily. Really held my attention from the beginning to the end. I also think it will be a hit
Watching the second episode of So Help Me Todd and loving this series also.

What channel is Alaskan Daily on? I wanted to watch it, but I forget about what's on and what channels since there really isn't a tv guide anymore.

I really liked Alaskan Daily. Hillary Swank is wonderful in it. Plus the scenery of Alaska is great. It's so good to see a diverse group of people and that the show addresses the murders of so many indigenous women,which is something also happening here in Canada

Grooch, Alaskan daily is on ABC Thursday nights. 1 ep has aired so far.
eta: The pilot is re-airing Saturday night on FX.

We watched and enjoyed it last night. I love Alaska! Been there a couple of times on cruises. So beaufitul.
Dipo, the editor of the paper is played by Jeff Perry. He was never on the West Wing, but I remembered him from Nash Bridges, a million years ago! Check out his imdb page. He's been a very busy actor for a long time.

Jeff Perry was also a major villain on Scandal when he played the evil VP, Cyrus. And he played Meredith Grey's father on Greys Anatomy. And he was once married to Laurie Metcalf from Roseanne and The Coopers. Metcalf and Perry had a daughter, Zoe Perry, who currently plays Sheldon's mother, Mary Cooper, on Young Sheldon. (Btw, on Big Bang Theory, Sheldon's mother was played by Laurie Metcalf).
Interesting how that biz family produced several very successful actors...

Sanfran I didn’t realize the Mom on Young Sheldon was Metcalfs daughter. I was really thinking they did an excellent job in casting.

I'll always remember Jeff Perry for wearing the black arm patch on Nash Bridges. Yes, I am aging myself. I still remember Patrick Fischler's character as well. Most of the rest I have forgotten.
I'm hoping the character Hilary Swank plays learns to mellow out a touch. I've enjoyed her in the past but wasn't enamored with her character after the pilot. I do think this show has great potential. Yellowstone touched on the situation with missing indidenous women but this show can take it much further.

My DVR recorded and then deleted this show and Grey's and Station 19 and something else, so, based on the good reviews here, I will watch on Demand.
