Got it set up to record. I hope it's as much fun as Grease was last year!

I don't know anything about it but I just turned it on and it seems like it's a lot of fun. I'm glad I set it to record!

Missed most of it. Is it being replayed tonight or repeated anytime soon? (sad pout)

My complaint is too many commercials. It disrupts the flow of the show. Not my favorite of the productions they have done so far. And that's sad, because I love the play!

Caperdoodles! I forgot this was on tonight so started recording it late. I enjoyed the movie with John Travolta a few years ago.

I thought this was so much better than the movie with John Travolta! I think in this version, the actors had much more musical and dancing talent. I love the big production numbers. I was really impressed with Derek Hough.

I missed it, thought it was going to be on over the weekend. Oh well, maybe it will be replayed or show up on demand.

Not just too many commercials, but also too many commercials within the show itself.

My complaint is too many commercials. Why I never watch anything live. We always record so we can FF thru the commercials. Also why I detest watching anything On Demand. They won't let you FF thru the commercials.

LOL I thought the commercials within the show were cute. And the Corny show would have had the host doing commercials.

Finally watched my recording of Hairspray. I was really disappointed overall. It seemed flat, one dimensional and a bit dull.

Not nearly as good as last year's production of Grease, was it, Sugar? I think what gave Grease it's energy was the fact that it was a live production filmed in real time. It was like watching a real Broadway show. I watched the first few minutes of Hairspray. Couldn't get into it.

I didn't watch all of Grease but I do agree it had more energy. I thought I saw a studio audience at the end of Hairspray and was embarrassed for the cast that everything was subpar. I don't recall hearing a single laugh or clap. Am I mistaken and there was not an audience in attendance? Has there been an announcement for another show in December 2017?

Bye Bye Birdie is the next one up, I believe. Star will be Jennifer Lopez. Haven't heard a date, just 2017.

Thank you Rissa, I remember that now. Not a big fan of Jennifer L but interested to see who else is cast. Delighted they are doing these every year despite some of them not being very good.

Oh, I love Bye Bye Birdie! My high school did that one year. JLo must be playing the part of "Rosa," the older romantic lead (she certainly can't be believable as a high school girl!). I wonder who'll play the part of the hs girl who wins the contest and gets to say goodbye to Birdie? Such a cute little musical. I catch it on TV every once in a while. I hope they do it live like they did with Grease!
