Any idea why of all people Laurie Metcalf (sheldon's Mom) was missing from Sheldon's birthday episode? Thought for sure when they brought out the laptop, it would be she!

I think she is on Broadway now with Bruce Willis in Misery.
Just Googled and she is. I think this was filmed near the beginning of the run when star absences are not appreciated

Nice to know Laurie Metcalf was on Broadway; still disappointed she couldn't have appeared at least via Skype--or that some mention was made to explain her absence.
On another note, WAY disappointed that Emily is back. I was so relieved the other week when it appeared she was out of the show...she comes across like a cipher.

I loved seeing Sheldon's storage unit, it was so organized. I'm surprised he had so many comic books lined up. You'd think he'd have those display in his apartment.

It was a sweet episode but I am not sure I am buying that all these years Sheldon has been a high level hoarder and no-one knew. Seems like a jumping-the shark plot, especially since I can clearly remember episodes where Sheldon tossed stuff.

what I've learned from watching Hoarders is that the majority of sufferers also have OCD, and Sheldon certainly qualifies under that particular category. Makes sense to me.

PLEASE PLEASE find Raj a new interesting girlfriend! So far both their current candidates are "blah" to me. The girlfriend I liked the best and was sorry to see go was the socially shy woman: that texting picnic in the library was a favorite scene!
